only LUSH could do that cover …eclectic , taste , flair…

Lush could do (almost) no wrong, in my opinion.

Interesting cover! Personally, I prefer the cover by Spoon... but there's nothing better than the original!

Good cover, and while it's very similar to the original this sounds a bit dated while the original is so fresh.

well lush does come from an indie, low-fi, showegaze background. it's very brit-poppy, too. maybe that's why you think it sounds dated. or maybe the fact that you can barely find female-led guitar-based rock bands on the radio now! you'll probably think this one from '92 is even MORE dated! haha kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3S1p32Cqa6XebM

eric wolfe I heard this version in the late 90s on the wire tribute album "Whore", and in fact hadn't heard the original. The Lush cover and the MBV were the most successful in my opinion while the others where mediocre to not so good. I have misspoken as I didn't really mean out-dated, as I don't think I can make that comment as if I do listen to the radio I have on BBC radio 4 and very rarely 6 and if I do listen to music it is because I get an ear worm from the past, last week it was Josef K as well as The Beat Happening and now it's Wire. So I guess what was trying to convey that the original is so well-written and powerful, that after 40 years it is so impactful, it is miles ahead of most of today's music which is a derivative of the oeuvre of Wire.

i appreciate your respectful and well-written reply. I'm an American and don't know the difference between BBC 4 and BBC 6 haha

eric wolfe BBC 6 is the indie music station, if John Peel were still around he would be on there. Radio 4 is a comedy/arts/news/magazine station. A lot of comedy shows start off on radio 4 before moving to TV. You can stream BBC radio all over the world for free.

good to know. Sounds like Radio 4 is where I'd be listening to old Monty Python records.

It's not one of Lush's best songs, or even covers, and Wire was amazing, so I hear ya.

eric wolfe yeah I subbed btw I like your uploads. Oh and check out a band called Babe The Blue Ox I think you will like them and if there is any more songs by The Lushes that you think I should listen to just send it to me

thanks for subscribing and the band recommendation. I listened to about ten of their songs and they're a bit...raw for me. I need a strong melody in my music. Maybe you can give more a more accessible song I can listen to from them. Lush is a great band. I chose 7 songs that cover their sound (shoegaze, britpop, experimental/noise-pop): Demystification: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ-raaidl8Z8a6s Ex: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6mViGOAm52fgpY Heavenly Nobodies: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJnInmmXjJmib5Y Last Night: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHzYdZprlK2Arq8 Light From a Dead Star: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqi1l6yvqMeVldk Piledriver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6qUkqGejbOeipY&index=133&list=PLir6T8bvnKitG03FrmMshiZGoSJA-V6nW Undertow: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYekq2qjl5ykiM0
