I think the ring was meant to brake off after cutting a circle on the hide and skin. Not allowing wound to close. Afterward, it would act like a regular fixed head.

I would be curious to know the penetration and flight test results without the ring like you did the durability test. Just to see if the broadhead has bad penetration and flight or if it's just the ring that slows it down and makes it unstable

Exactly, like why even try to produce this thing. Paper thin blades, small cut, can’t shoot it into a foam target, like what the heck!?! And that flight🤔

The ring needs to be spot welded to the blades
@LuskArcheryAdventures9 ай бұрын
It would help. But the circular blade itself breaks so easily. That's a lot of impact to have zero gradual penetration--it just gets hit all at once. If it's a softer medium, it's okay, but if it's a bit harder...

John I love your content but using a bolt compared to an arrow for broadhead flight isn't a fair comparison. A bolt can shoot broadhead different than a regular arrow. You must realize that. 😢
@LuskArcheryAdventures9 ай бұрын
Yes of course. I mentioned that in the 2024 Process video. The point is that I have much more control with the crossbow. I use a heavy bolt so it flies at compound bow speed. But it is mounted to a BOG tripod and uses a scope so I can be extremely consistent and accurate. I use the same bolt for the field point and the broadhead. The only thing that changes is the broadhead. So you can see the effect of the Broadhead on the flight. That is the only variable that changes. it does not mean that I could not get a brought it to fly well out of a compound bow. But it shows the effect of that specific broadhead on flight. There is much less human error than there is out of my vertical bow. and interestingly enough, the scoring is actually remarkably similar to the testing when I use my vertical bow. But it gives me more confidence in the consistency and lack of human error.
@kellyskinner72829 ай бұрын
