@IIDASHII Жыл бұрын
The 100gr setup performed incredibly. I wish they had a dedicated 125gr head. That weight collar solution adds flat face to the diameter of the arrow and that's a no-go for me. I think that will affect penetration quite adversely. Especially if one hits a rib or shoulder blade. They either need to taper that collar, or to make a 125gr blade set or ferule. You are probably already on this, but I'd be interested in seeing a test of the 125gr setup to compare if you are so inclined.

@timsupeck2745 Жыл бұрын
Lusk, would you ever consider performing a decibel test in the future? In some rudimentary testing of my own, I’ve found some broadheads to be significantly louder than others. Maybe measure decibels shooting with a bare shaft to rule out fletching noise? I love these tests I’ve made some broadhead choices based off your tests and love how you stay very non bias.
@LuskArcheryAdventures Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I have consider that quite a bit. However, there are a few reasons I did not do it. 1. I cannot figure out a way to provide consistent and comparative data regarding arrow flight noise. I do not have a long enough chamber indoors to do it effectively. The arrow shot noise and the arrow impact noise are much louder than the arrow flight noise. If I do it outside at longer distance, I can record the flight noise without it being over, whelmed by the bow noise, and the impact noise. However, the ambient noise of the environment varies significantly minute to minute and day today. So that really is not a valid comparative Datapoint. 2. Honestly, I do not think Aero flight noise has any impact on the hunting situation. I’ve taken hundreds of animals and never seen it to be an issue. Boain noise is huge because it is static, and an animal can pinpoint its origin. But flight noise is a totally different issue. For all the animal knows it could be a bird or a bug zipping by.

So, December, 2024: ordered a set from Exact, quick shipping. Like the design, simple, solid. Blades are so dull I can run my finger down them without fear of cut. WITHOUT any sort of visual aid, I can see the machining marks on the blades. Piss poor finish/final sharpening. Disassembled them to try to manually sharpen with a Lansky. Screws come out easy enough. Blades were locked in so tight, had to use needle nose to get them out of the ferrule. Sharpened and stroped them the best I could, the blades are tiny, makes for a difficult time. They're so-so, not at sharp as I would like. Reassembly is near impossible, again, they are so tight into the ferrule that it's hard to assemble them without cutting yourself or dulling the blades with needle nose pliers. No thanks. I shouldn't have to sharpen new, out of the box broadheads. Apparently, Mr. Lusk's broadheads were treated with some tender care before delivery.
