It's amazing that in this relatively small industry there is such a huge variety of broadheads available. Thanks for doing all the testing so we don't have to!
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Right? My wife was saying that same thing--"well how many different broadheads are there?" Haha.

@@LuskArcheryAdventures Any chance you can test out the true blue cross breeds with a large expandable on the front? Maybe like a shwacker or sevr on the front? I’d be very interested in seeing the penetration.

@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Well, I use different heads, typically. But honestly, I've not been digging it lately--too many pieces flying around. I may put a layer of carpet or rubber mat in front of the concrete starting 2022.

@@LuskArcheryAdventures Yessir, I guess I didn’t finish my thought very well. After the head lost an entire blade on steel, seems like it would be more likely to loose blades in the zero penetration test. I’d suggest at the minimum a piece of plexiglass with a small hole for the arrow to pass through, but still catch the vast majority of shrapnel. Maybe put a dot a couple inches or so above the hole so you know where to aim your pin? Either way, we definitely don’t want you to get hurt testing broadheads.

Thank you. I have the scores for all the heads I tested in 2020 in a vid that I published at the end of that year, called Broadhead Testing & Scores 2020 or something like that. I also posted the scores for the first quarter of March on my Facebook Page, Lusk Archery Adventures. I will post the entire year's scores at the end of this Fall.

Have you had the chance to test out the "new" Rage Extreme 4 Blade yet? I would love to see how it stacks up to older rage models and everything too. I purchased some this year to test out in the field. Thanks for all your videos..

I've not tested them yet Adam. I just tested the Wacem Hybrid Slip Cam, which is made by the same parent company. Haven't finished the vid yet. I'd like to test the Rage Extreme 4 blade as well.

As others have said, this looks like the old Rocky Mountain Titanium. I'm guessing some Conglomerate bought them all up. I used to use the Steel version of this head in 125 grains. Excellent on whitetails.

Thanks for sharing that Jeff.

Hey man. Love the vids! In an earlier video you talked about the sevr and if you shot a heavier set up the robusto was a great choice. What do you consider a heavier set up? And when talking about arrow weight, does that include the broadhead or field point? Thanks man keep up the great work!!
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I just mean that if you're looking for a 150 gr head, then the Robusto is a great choice. When I list my arrow weight as 460 gr, that includes the broadheads. Typically, people will clarify if the weight means only the shaft, without a tip.

good test and i was surprised being titanium...still wanna see the thunderhead 125 been around over 30 years and id like to se this test with them...i remember back then when they came out shops shot them into bricks and they did good so i used them over 30 years!...and my buddy i gave my dear to asked if i shot it with my rifle because of the hole the annihlator xl 125 left and i have a couple youtube videos on the damage which im not a pro with a camera so bear with it anyone that sees them...i waited for a quartering toward shot on purpose to see what it would do through a shoulder and i was very impressed!!

Well, since I don't hunt metal sheeting these heads are probably satisfactory for at least a single animal hit. Not too costly at around $45 for 3. At 100 grains only? going to need to use a brass insert for me anyway. It's actually a good looking ferrule shape IMO. 👍👍
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they can work for sure. But there are other heads that have stronger tips, stronger ferrules, and stronger blades and even wider cuts...and cost less. Like Exodus, or Deepower 1 3/16", etc.
@timbow503 жыл бұрын
Lusk Archery Adventures agreed. There's a young fella at " 4b" on KZbin that field tests different heads on pigs. I'm sure I remember seeing drill a pig with one of these. Dead pig but I think it had a broken off blade. Maybe in the dirt? Only like 19 yards off 70+ pound bow. He is a good guy and gives Bible verses to think about in every video.
@timothyhall9633 жыл бұрын
Not bad for a replacement blade bh but I'd only use it for small game.
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are decent...but there are better options that cost even less--Exodus, Deepower 1 3/16", etc.

When you do your test with 2 broadheads and a field point, are we to assume that you’re shooting in the order that you’re listing them?

I would like to see a test of the Truglo 4 blade mechanical and how it would perform. Hopefully, you can test this head in addition to the fixed blade. If anyone has any feedback or has tested this head please feel free to comment or share your results.

I've tested their 2 blade mech, but not the 4.

Yeah, Exodus is less expensive, cuts more tissue, and is much much more durable. No advantage to the Truglo.
