I bought one of these on ebay for 10 bucks a few years ago that was broken and fixed it. It was made in Germany in the 1890s and has the same peghead carving. Yes, it is hard to hold. Tune the G-string down to F# for authenticity.

Use a microfibre or chamois cloth on your thigh to stop it rolling about, also use a strap.

Im a lute player. Get a bit of leather place it over your legs.Or use a strap.Thats fixes the slipping.All lutes do this.

@@Abbas_Hasen I really enjoy mine. The tone is brighter than that of most classical guitars. String spacing and neck width are similar. You will need some sort of non-slip mat on your knee so it stays in place. My personal opinion is that they are really nice instruments with a decent but slightly different sound and they are fun to play.

@@Abbas_Hasen it seems well constructed, and it is very playable without any adjustments. No buzzes or rattles. It’s a matt finish and perhaps doesn’t have the finesse of some similar priced classical guitars but I do think it’s a decent quality instrument and actually I’m impressed with it. I fitted an arm-rest because the angle of the body to the top makes the edge dig into your arm a bit and makes it uncomfortable after a while. Doing so solved the problem.

I can’t remember now but if you look for Muzikkon , you’ll find it on their website. Thomann also do a very similar instrument which I think is a bit cheaper.
