Luther Standing Bear, Part 2

Here is part two about Luther Standing Bear, Sioux chief. Luther adopted Virginia Potter as his own, called her Shiyowin. When she married, she became Shiyowin Miller. Her daughter Dolores married Christopher Nyerges in 1986 and they remained married until Dolores' death in 2008. This video shows some of the family papers and photos of Shiyowin and Luther, as well as Shiyowin's interactions with her Navajo friends in New Mexico (which were described in Shiyowin's "Winds Erase Your Footprints" book, published by Naturegraph.)

Me too. My grandma was born on Rosebud or Pine Ridge I forget, she was sent off to the the boarding schools
