LOL, I'm surprised they didn't sing it in Spanish and claim it's Lutheran! Scandinavia is Lutheran, to be sure, but, for international audiences they need to point out that this isn't Germany and neither is the language. As to resemblances to the Missouri Synod, they are high church, and pre-Adam in theology. I don't know specifically what is the roots of the MIssouri Synod, besides deep south, pro-slavery, and generally, well, reactionary redneck, but, high church tends to equate to Scandinavian. The Missouri Synod insists that the world was created in seven days, and things go downhill from there. Mind, I would expect these videos to come from Europe, but it really doesn't say, and, people are commenting that it sounds like the Missouri Synod. This church looks like a scene from Dracula! It's an amazement the Missouri Synod doesn't still sing services in Latin. Except, Luther wouldn't allow it. Services in the vernacular were a cornerstone of his reformation. From my knowledge of history, Germans typically weren't all that drawn to slavery, as they came from a part of the world where people were small farmers and craftsmen,. I am somewhat proud that my ancestors, founders of Germantown, Pennsylvania, very early settlers for Germans, were among the earliest to take a formal stance against slavery. They'd be ashamed of these critters from the deep south... In the new world Germans often prospered, but they were far more likely to take advantage of and abuse indentured servants. I don't know what in the world set them on course to become the Missouri Synod.
