Luthier Jeff Jewitt at the Artisan Guitar Show 2023

We had a blast at the 2023 Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg, PA, playing guitars and chatting with luthiers from all over North America and beyond! Here we chat with our friend Ohio builder Jeff Jewitt about his special stash of sinker mahogany and how he's incorporating some modern features with a little help from fellow luthier Ryan Gerber. In addition to displaying, Jeff was at Artisan to give a master class on finishes, so towards the end we close out with his top finish care tips!

So much respect for Mr. Jeff Jewitt! Would love to hear a demo of that engelmann/sinker guitar. I still think about that 000 12-fret of his that I played while at Carter Vintage 😃

i really like the sinker mahogany for back and sides. my d18 isn't quite to the level of Jewitt guitars but the sinker really makes it have a different unique and beautiful voice. I'm lucky to have found it a couple years ago. Jewitt is where I'd spend my money for a boutique handmade guitar.
