I think that if you do get a parlor then get an all solid wood configuration. I recently bought a 00-28 and I have an all solid OM cedar top and Honduras rosewood. I hardly play my dreadnought. Thank you

Beautiful sound, warm and no zingy tones from the strings, probably because of the cedar top

Obviously a very talented guitarist, but that Lowden just rings, and the sound is so balanced and clear, it makes the final sound more than the sum of it's individual parts.

I've never heard a dread sound so balanced. And it doesn't sound taught.

I had Taylor custom build me a guitar with those inlay's and one on the head stock as well about 15 years ago- still my favorite guitar to play and write with!

Thank you very much for all the effort you put in to these videos. They are very informative and well done. The 00 has a nice sound and good projection. Could you possibly tell me the song you played at the beginning of the video. You did such a good job. Thanks so much.

I played a '58 D-28 for many years. I used heavy gauge strings on it. It was very bad for the guitar in the long run (neck resets), but it sounded like a piano.

Very strange niche product that no one asked for…. Sounds kinda terrible except for when Tommy played it. As others have said, perhaps Gypsy jazz would be great for it. I’d really like to see mess around with it.

Beautiful instrument. Sounds like heaven, and I can tell 'cause I've been dead five times. But being a lefty I can only dream of having a guitar like that. Doesn't matter, it's a beautiful dream. Greetings from Holland.

Not a fan. They all have that midrange focused tone that is like a bitter pill to my ears. But that's just my opinion.

I build a lot of 0 and 00 12 fret short scale guitars. I like them. They have more balanced sound than the 000 and Dreadnaughts. Also the bridge is more in the center of the lower bout than the 14 fret guitars given the guitars good bass response. The idea that a small guitar is quiet is not quite true. Basically a smaller guitar has the same string energy moving less wood, so they are loud. The larger guitars do better support the lowest bass response, so it is a trade off. I use a 00 as my main drop D or DADGAD guitar and find the bass response good.

Wow! I'm already a big fan of Clive Carroll, but tonight I'm learning this tune on the fiddle so I was searching around and found this version. Love it! BTW: Niel Gow is correct spelling, not Neil Gow. He had a son that he named Neil Gow. Different person.

I contacted Casimi guitars because you mentioned them, I'm sure they are quite costly, but I'm looking for a 12 fret cutaway with some life in it.
