Luthier Ken LeVan at Artisan Guitar Show 2023

We had a blast at the 2023 Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg, PA, playing guitars and chatting with luthiers from all over North America and beyond! Today we connect with Ken LeVan, who hand builds one-of-a-kind guitars and banjos from his home in the woods of Northern Appalachia! Often utilizing not just domestic woods but trees from very close to home, he also incorporates motifs and design elements from old Pennsylvania furniture styles, giving his guitars a wonderfully wood-focused, Americana craftsmanship appeal to match their warm, woodsy tone.
We had the honor of trying Ken's guitars at the 2023 Artisan Guitar Show, and we're delighted to feature them on CVE!

wow LeVan banjo's is part of the smithsonian museum now that's serious business right there. historically made instruments. one of these guitars is now on my list to find/try/own hopefully one day. the topo looking pickguard is so awesome I can't hardly stand it.
