this is in the top 3 hardest winters in the 30yrs ive been in Mb Canada, lots of snow, big wind and crazy yoyo temps, stay safe

When the cows & heifers calf do u guys use / different colors for the ear tags ? Or how do u keep them apart in the spring ? Cuz they stay with their mom ? I thought u had a lot of hay seeing u make it , i guess I didn't pay attention it's 10 degrees here Fri in the 30's and it's supposed to be 30's in the afternoon ,

We have a good amount of hay but we have more cows this year. Also we sell about 40% of the hay we put up as horse hay. My dad and I use different colored ear tags and put them in different ears.

Thank you! It’s mainly my Dad and I that ranch. I have a brother that’s fairly involved too and a lot of siblings that help out when they can. It’s just my Dad and I that own cows. My step dad helps out often too.
