I used to see these in lots of shops, but for some reason they faded away. Truth is, they are still really useful in finding weak plugs. You can get one here: www.amazon.com/dp/B09SP4RHC9?...

These may become common again with the cost of spark plugs getting so high.

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairsjust got it yesterday.. the instructions are not that detailed.. like when i first tried it out.. it didnt say to make sure the spark plug is pushed ALL the way into the hole to make good contact so the spark will show on the tip of the plug NOT some where else.. it feels like the tip of the plug kinda snaps into the springs at the bottom, and the metal housing needs to make contact with the top metal ring on the tester.. at least thats how it is working for me... eather way very happy i now have a nother diag. tool in my tool box!!!.... p.s. thanks for sharing with all of us!!!😁

Eric, your video demonstration was very well done. A local high school would appreciate it and the tool to use. In the mid 80s, in high school auto shop it was commonplace to see a spark plug cleaner, a tester and one of the stand-alone Sun Engine Performance Analyzer models, etc. The old stuff can still be helpful, at times :)

thank you, sometime the older tech is the way to go.

What does the green light on the first spark plug stand for?

I was wondering the same thing.

I think it doubles as a power light, but I do know that you shouldn't run the unit without at least 1 plug installed.
