James just one of many but this one was nice to get, as my Dad always said the best tool is a new free tool with a used one coming in second but close because new is not always better. Truer things have never been said just look at manufactured stuff today compared to years ago, older stuff may not have been as pretty but it was made to last . We live in a disposable world and yet here we are trying to salvage and keep equipment going to keep it out of the scrap yard and our govs want to ban this type of equipment and go all battery. Wait until they see the massive amounts of Lithium Ion batteries piled up just like the rubber tire situation of today. Subsidies needed to make it profitable to recycle so once again the taxpayer takes a hit and the deficit rises eh?

No problem Stella it is only 6 minutes of video but Jake is the man that did the editing and made it a smooth video. 20 minutes of video edited down to 6 minutes so i must apologise to Bruce and Claus because their sticker shout out got cut due to poor audio and blurred video.

Eric sounds like your one of the EP Pit Crew, thanks for watching and being concerned about Jake. He is on a hiatus to work on his '67 Mustang and got really sick for about 3 to 4 weeks with a cough and body ache issue. Doing well right now and he did a great job on the editing which smoothed my video right out.

Got your channel name in but your sticker and Bruces got cut during the editing process due to audio and blurred video issues. 20 minutes of filming turned into a 6 minute good video thanks to Jakes excellent editing skills.

Thanks Greasy it is a nice gift and i will use it to test all plugs prior to installation just in case there is an issue. Lots of videos out there about the big scam of small engine repair companies installing new plugs when the old one works fine. But as the video shows the used plug does not have as hot (blue colour) spark. Now if i spend the time to clean a carb at our hourly rate it would cost the same as a new plug installation and that is why we always install a new plug but not if the original is in good shape and not badly carboned up.

Yep Rick really shows the difference on spark quality new vs used and not cleaned. As a matter of fact going into the shop now to clean that carboned plug and retest to see what improvement it makes and maybe discuss during the livestream today. Thanks for your support.

Tommy he is coming back and i believe he will be doing an update on his Ford F150 reduced oil consumption based on him switching oil types and manufacturer's. The truck will be getting another oil change this Monday with another type that hopefully again reduces the oil consumption issue these Coyote engines have. Thanks for the positive comment on my first video but it is basically a good one because of Jake's editing skills.

Like your channel and by the way you do a very good job. Bought the spark plug tester and to tell you the truth the spark is so weak I couldn't tell a brand new one from an defective one side by side. I kind of figured by how cheap the power adapter was and the size of the wire it would no way supply enough current to strike a good arc. Anywho that's my two cents on the product maybe others will have better luck.

Yea I think it's more or less to tell you there is spark, and that it's not shorting out before it gets to the grounding strap. Thanks for watching!

This one that was sent to us by Wayne as a Secret Santa gift shows some pretty good spark being released which i would not be grabbing. I can 100% tell the quality of colour spark of blue hot on the new plug and yellow spark on the used carboned plug. Dont forget i am testing at 3600 rpm and listen to the sound in the video, if your not hearing this sound then something may be wrong with your tester. Appreciate your comment and let me know if you hear that intense buzzing sound on yours?

Check out 2:20 mark on the video you can clearly see the blue spark on the left and the yellow spark on the right plus it nicely shows how strong both sparks are covering the entire electrode although the newer one shows more electrode coverage.

Seenitthere it has only been 5 months but seems a lot longer since he did his last video. He purchased two 1967 Mustangs the last one 6 months ago and got his EP Pit Crew together at his buddies shop with a vehicle lift to start a total rebuild on one complete vehicle. Basically doing his videos took a lot of time and effort especially with the editing. A lot of viewers do not realise the time spent on putting together quality videos with good content and Jake was never the guy that just kept filming carb cleaning he always wanted to put out unique and different content that would save the viewers time, money and all the aggravation associated with some of the repairs needed. This 6 minute video had 20 minutes of original video that took over 2 hours for him to edit and turn it into a good video which i am very grateful for since he actually made this old man' s video come out sounding and looking pretty good for my first attempt. I have a lot to learn did you see my finger in the one shot?

Thanks for the comment buddy and yes the Chubby Butcher has a great cooking food channel but needs the view time increased so more subs help but make sure you watch the entire video. If you do not want to sub that is ok but share his videos with your friends so he hits the monetisation threshold for watch hours he is not that far off right now. North Star we will need to discuss tools more important to have than this one, but it is a great tool for the shop and will be used on a regular basis to test plugs before installation to save time in the event a plug is bad.

I have a Honda GX160 that starts with a starter and it runs, then it randomly shuts off but it starts right back up. If I unplug the cut off Wire to the coil it'll run and not stop. But it won't shut off unless you put The Wire back together like sensing it's low in oil, but it's not low in oil. Should I change oil??? Why is it just shutting off? Bad coil?

By unplugging the coil kill wire you have confirmed the kill wire is shorting out somewhere or the switch section itself needs attention.

Question my 2007 Craftsman riding mower with a 26hp Kohler twin cylinder is not running right. The motor speeds up slows down speeds up slows down except when I engage the mower deck. Hoping it's something simple. Any ideas?? Bridge

I would guess you have a partially clogged jet in the carb and when you engage the blades you are applying more of a load on the engine which requires it to draw more fuel which levels the surging out. Sometimes but not always spraying some carb cleaner into the air box intake while the engine is running may pull the debris through the jet and clear it up or by engaging and disengaging the choke . Again these may work but normally we remove the carb and ultrasonic clean it and sometimes the pilot jets are opened slightly to eliminate surging.

This video was shot on a $380 cell phone with its own mic which i thought did pretty well other than my thumb in one shot. Without Jakes editing skills it would not have been as good as it was eh?
