A much better alliterative to this would be the train! However, if it is time you are worried about, try 'Ecolines'

I prefer trains over buses, but at the time of travel there was no train service between Vilnius to Daugavpils.

@@Homo_Vagus Okay sorry when I saw the date for some reason I thought it was 2018. It is a true shame that they closed Vilnius Daugavpils. I guess if you really prefer trains you can go from Vilnius - Moscow and then Moscow - Riga? Seems a bit out of the way tho.

The date was indeed 2018, but for whatever reason there was no train service that spesific day. Moscow would have been a totally different itenary.
