*Travelling to the airport very early in the morning? Public buses are available overnight but less frequent of course. Bolt cars are available overnight too but are usually less available and more difficult to secure- but using the relatively new reserve/schedule function will help greatly.

When I travelled to different countries I mostly took either bus or taxi, since all airports were far enough from the cities! I would love to walk to Vilnius, however with some luggage this is not my option.😁I would prefer a train or a bus then!

I watched just two videos so far but this is still really great as I will soon spend a longer time in Vilnius and learning more about it and Lithuania helps me a lot to prepare for the journey even thought I have been already to a place in Lithuania a lot. My family didnt use the plane though and we were not headed for Vilnius but for Klaipeda but used the ship to get from where we lived to there. We mostly took the Taxi there because it was esier to get where we were going with all the luggage but I often prefer travelling by bus through countries so when I get there going by bus will be a perfect way for me

I usually have someone to pick me up at the airport but if I had to, I would take the train/public bus and if feasible, would love to walk. I think Lithuania is a place where you should walk more to experience. :).

It's not a particularly beautiful walk after crossing the train tracks but it's not horrible either. Most people say Naujininkai (on the way to the airport) is the bad part of town but it's not too bad in the middle of the day at least.

Tourists also can rent a car, but depending on the time and day. If you arrive at early morning or evening monday-friday, you will get into absolutely HUGE traffic, but if at other times or at weekends (not including december 24th, when everyone is going to see their relatives for christmas), you will get pretty fast to your hotel.

In Vilnus official site it says: Single tickets can be bought from the bus driver. Ticket price 1 Euro (no discount available, ticket is valid for one trip, cash only).

im confused about your buses. if i arrive at the airport and need to get a bus to Belarus, Minsk are you saying there a bus waiting to leave to minsk outside the airport ?

Things are constantly changing depending on the international political situation. But in recent times I've seen Minsktrans (Мінсктранс) buses coming to the airport. (minsktrans.by)

Yes absolutely! Vilnius is a very safe city even at night. If you feel unsafe because of other passengers I would recommend sitting at the front near the driver. Occasionally older drunk men get on and cause disruptions but it’s not really a risk to safety. But I think there is a 0.05% chance you will be in a situation where you feel unsafe on the bus in the middle of the night.
