Nice recipe. I saw you use carbomer and mix it with a high shear blender. My question is if it produces air bubbles in water phase. Also, when you heat the water phase does it produce buubles and how the finally product look like? Thanks for your time.

Just out L curiosity but why put the lotion into the jar, then the bag, and finally squeeze out into another jar? I'm trying to understand this step. Thank you.

Team Making cosmetics... Do you have any video link for kojic acid mixing technique ...I am highly thankful to you for your reply....

Currently, we don't have a video for mixing kojic acid. But you can add it directly to a finished cream or lotion. Just stir it in. Also, we have more recipes here: www.makingcosmetics.com/Formulas_ep_5.html

Are you supposed to keep stirring until it gets thick or do you let it stand for a few hours? It was liquid and then the video cut and it was all of a sudden thick and creamy. Please advise
@Makingcosmetics7 жыл бұрын
Hi, once the phases are combined it needs a good mix. Then comes the cool down phase, where you stir it occasionally but basically wait for it too cool. With the cooling comes the thickness, once cool and all ingredients have been added you can package it. It will settle a bit more within the next 24hours. It's not going to be a super thick heavy cream, but still thick and soft to the touch.

I was taught that you first neutralize the water when using stearic acid, silicones and carbomer. Here you adjust the ph at the end, why? Good videos.
@Makingcosmetics7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It depends on the amount of stearic acid used and on the formulation. If a higher amount needs to be saponified, we neutralize the water phase as well then adding the stearic acid to the water phase. At lower concentrations we mix it at times with the oil phase and adjust the pH at the end.

That kind of mixer should really do it. That shouldn't be the problem.

Love your videos but please consider talking again. The earlier videos which contained speech felt more informative. Also please shown the labels closer towards the camera as we (or maybe just me) can hardly read them.

At what concentration are you trying to dissolve it? The usual concentration is 2%. Try to add to the water phase of the formulation, with glycerin and a few drops of a solubilizer if necessary. Use propeller mixer or homogenizer.
