I don't know why it never occurred to me to watch the wedding on KZbin! I think Princess Martha Louise wasn't feeling comfortable. I liked how Prince Carl Philip tried to make her at ease! Princess Caroline wasn't interested and maybe the Crown Prince Naruhito is familiar with King Felipe and Queen Letizia? The Countess of Wessex still my favorite at that wedding. Queen Beatrix is popular as I see (I love her). I love royal families (Although not all of them!)

LOL. Nobody snubbed her wedding. And heads of other families certainly did not feel she was marrying beneath her rang. HRH The Princess Elizabeth married a man who was not only born an HRH, but was 100 percent royal,unlike the Queen whose mother was not royal by birth. Actually the European (German) connection insular tradition is a partial reason as to the absence of the head of The Royal House of Windsor. The main one was that when HM Queen Elizabeth II Married Prince Philip the other heads of the Royal Houses snubbed HM 's weeding. They felt she'd married beneath her status. They saw HRH as a poor penniless Greek from an exiled Royal House. HM never forgot the snub. Although they remain civil in relations? HM doesn't strain to extend HM's presence much!

That's completely bs! The resistance against Philip, was ledd by Elisabeth (Queen mother) and parts of aristocracy. Philip who was poor and stateless, had something Elisabeth Bowes-Lyons would have given a lot, namely the oldest and finest royal lineage there is to have! The Queen never attends foreign state weddings! Exception were the weddings in the Greek Royal Family, in London, because the Queen is married to a Greek Prince, the duke of Edinburgh!

I think the invitations are to the royal households, not to individual royals, although individual members can be specifically invited. Edward & Sophie are usually sent to attend on her behalf.

The Queen is still technically celebrating her Diamond Jubilee. Not to mention her Husband is in very poor health. She wouldn't have wanted to attend without him and travelling such a long way may have been to much for the Ageing Duke.

I think there are lots of reasons. Some could be the British royals avoidance of European (German) connections in the 20th century after which they developed or continued insular traditions. When one generation stops something (like marrying foreign royalty) often the next generation continues that practice. Or it might be they're the most prestigious royal house, so all others come to them not the other way around. You can always write to Buckingham Palace and ask!

No! The reason is purely protocolar! Nothing else! In fact, it has long been customary -- since before Elizabeth became Queen -- for the British monarch to send a family representative to foreign royal weddings! She is following custom! And I'm sure, at her age now, she's probably quite happy not to get stressed, but that's not the reason why she doesn't attend foreign royal weddings!

I don't believe they are bowing to the flag..but to a monument to the 'fallen' citizens of Luxembourg during wars and plagues and such. If they were bowing to the flag…they are doing so out of respect for the hosting nation. Same reason that during the Olympics, regardless of where they are held….everyone gets up when the national anthem is played. Respect.

Princesses Mary, Maxima, Mathilde and Mette Marit very well and very beautiful. No doubt that the princesses That mark is always positive for the princesses Mary of Denmark and Maxima of the Netherlands. Princess doll face and most beautiful of Belgium this time was not happy in the toilette. However is always a lovely presence. Princess Louise of Norway is fantastic!
