Good video, but just check those interior cabin dimension stats given at 2:30 - I'm sure it's not 57 feet high by 54 feet wide!! I guess there's a confusion here with inches!!

The only thing this plane is missing is a dual wheel nose landing gear and the 5 blade propeller should be mandatory for the new 360

So, as a corporation, you can afford to spend 7.9 million dollars on an airplane to fly your execs and their families around, and Beechcraft says it is certified for single pilot operation so that you can save some $45,000 per year by NOT hiring a copilot? REALLY? We just saw the stupidity of flying a corporate jet single pilot when a Citation 550 recently crash and killed 4 people plus the loss of the airplane because that single pilot had a medical emergency and crashed because the operator was too cheap or too stupid to fly with a second pilot. I flew the King Air for 13 years, as both a corporate pilot and as the Director of Training for both FlightSafety International and Simuflite, 1978-1986, and neither of these professional training companies in that era would sign a pilot's Pro Card if they flew single pilot. And after 29 years flying for the airlines, I am once again (at age 73) flying a corporate plane in my retirement years. It is a 5 million dollar single engine turboprop Pilatus PC-12NG and, like this latest version of the King Air, is certified for single pilot operations. But my boss isn't stupid. He insists we always have a copilot when flying with passengers on board. Just sayin'....

Great comments you make . You must have seen huge changes in aviation in your career . I guess the corporate profit motive has always existed - flying is expensive , and the results of an aircraft ceasing to fly anytime following takeoff have always been the most risky part ! There are aircraft that have proven their reliability over decades , but the pursuit of speed and efficiency ($$) drives the industry - with both positive and negative results . Trial and error is what creatures do to evolve , but - Technology is kinda consuming the human element in some ways - again with good and bad aspects . I'm glad to know your boss cares about people's lives , and keeps you safe . I'm not a pilot but as a young man I read Antione De St Exupery 's book - Wind Sand and Stars . It was mindblowing to read of those early aviators flying the long mail-runs solo in all weathers in the 1920s - into Africa and Sth America . Many of them died . Still, it amazes me how reliable some early aero engines were - and still are flying . Cheers, and happy flying .

This twin engine aircraft is impressive. I have read about Beechcraft for years when I was in high school. National Geographic magazine always had an advertisement for their aircraft back then. A turboprop aircraft makes a lot of sense for military, law enforcement and medical personnel. A private jet may have the speed but jets can burn through a lot of fuel. And the maintenance is another factor. As well as the insurance.

the Beechcraft KingAir 360 ER light turboprop aircraft could do with a stretched fuselage variant & even more range . . . a stretched variant will be well sought after by the military . . . it'll have a length of 56.9 ft & a wingspan of 68.3 ft, 18.2 ft in height . . . as private charter the enlarged cabin of the stretched KingAir 360 ER should be able to accommodate around of 11 - 13 paxs alongwith a proper enclosed lavatory . . . among other enhancements the airframe will feature taller (longer by perpendicular measure) forward & aft landing gear, thus providing additional clearance between the under fuselage & tarmac . . . not to mention powerful turboprop engines with double the thrust, mods to the existing power pack should be more than adequate because opting for a completely new turboprop engine will mean significant increase in costs . . .

Cabin height 57 feet and cabin width 54 feet, wowwie, a house on wings!! Wait a minute, the wing width is 57 feet 11 inches and the cabin is 57 feet wide, that means the wings are only 11 inches - must be tough on take offs and landings.

The 360ER is not impressive, the Piaggio Avanti P180 EVO is a much more impressive twin turboprop, it flies faster at 402 kts max cruise or long range cruise at 318 kts, which is faster than the 360ER's max cruise of 303 kts and mediocre long rang cruise of 238 kts. The Piaggio has a bigger cabin at 5' 9" high and 6' wide it is spacious, the Beechcraft is 12" shorter in height and an 18" narrower cabin width, the 360 is 4.5 ft longer though. The Piaggio has a significantly larger fuel capacity of 1,271 kg normal config or 1,451 kg extended range config, the 360ER full fuel is 899kg. The Piaggio squeaks in under the 12,500 lbs weight limit for single pilot operation, the 360ER requires two pilots increasing operating costs. Beechcraft is playing games with their max range number (2,539 NM) as they do not say what standard is applied is max range the ferry range, IFR with 4 PAX, I did find on another website the max range with crew and 4 PAX is 2,271 NM(but, this is not from the manufacture so it is of questionable accuracy), the Piaggio will do 1,510 NM with 4 PAX at max cruise of 400 kts or 1,770 in its increased range configuration, the Beechcraft may have longer range, but that is only achieved because of the slow long range cruise of 238 kts. So the question is do you want to be in the sky for nearly double the time and have more range or get there at near jet speed and have a shorter range..... Time is money.

I thought the video was pretty good although there were mistakes in it that are somewhat "glaring" especially to pilots. The mention of Terrain awareness was pronounced Terin. And reading the airspeed numbers under the specs should have been stated a knots and not T K A S. P&WC should have been stated as Pratt and Whitney. 2,700 "FPM" should be presented as "feet per minute." I'm sure this sounds picky but it also sounds "canned" and unrehearsed. This is a beautiful and highly capable aircraft; certainly one of Textron's best efforts. Its $8 million price tag deserves a more polished presentation. Just an opinion from a King Air pilot.

Speed 313kts and range and 2692 miles. That is about an 8 hour flight. In a shitty plane like that. It would be torture
@chele-chele
@chele-chele 3 ай бұрын
Worse yet, that 313kts is max cruise speed so if you want to achieve the full 2692 nautical mile range you'll need economy cruise resulting in a 10 hour flight.
