The Evolution looks like the ultimate personal aircraft. The others each come with their own advantages, but the affordability of the Lancair really makes it a dream plane.

Yup, they are aiming square at cirrus owners. It seems way better than the vision jet at sr22T prices

Nice to see propeller style planes still being used, we live few minutes away from old airport that my dad worked at before he transfered to the larger. The old one still being used and often see propeller planes coming in and out of the old airport.

You can do a video comparing private operating costs of an Eclipse vs your pick of turboprop. There is a 2008 Eclipse for sale right now for 1mil. 1600 hours, TBO is 3500 but probably overhaul at 1800 or so. Last I checked with P&W the engines were 922k a piece. I think it's an illusion that turboprops are significantly cheaper to run.

do you recommend single prop over dual prop? what dual prop planes do you recommend?
@nostradamus76489 ай бұрын
I'd recommend the Diamond DA62 or DA42 for safety and reliability. If you're interested in jets, then the HondaJet Elite.
@mts9829 ай бұрын
@@nostradamus7648 for dual prop = PIPER CHEYENNE 400LS. for jet e550.

Surely the PC-12 NGX stated HP is not correct, right? 160HP ?
@Chris_at_HomeАй бұрын
The last company I worked for had a 1999 PC-12 and it was 850 HP. They used that and a Citation 560 to fly technicians around the state.

Great brief review! I enjoyed it. Sadly, the single turboprops have killed the twin turbos for a long shot, unless specific applications where a king air is needed. I miss the C90s…!

For the money, the Piaggio P180, Avant (not mentioned in this video) would be my choice.

I've had the privilege of flying an Epic E1000 (GX) omg this plane is fast!! If your willing to lower your engine reliability on this plane? We pushed it to 402mph. That's jet territory right there. But I'm hoping the 1000hp turboprop kit will be certified. (Garrett or the GE H series) It would be interesting as turboprops shine at under 35000 feet and about 400 mph or less.

What do you mean "if your willing to lower your engine reliability" e1000 has a turboprop, is that not reliability

Why doesn't any every state knots INDICATED it can do??? KTAS can be very manipulated unless it specifically states what standard lapse rate was used and what flight level it was calculated at. Don't tell me it can do 300 KTAS. I mean I can do 300 knots true if I took a Cessna 152 up to 50,000 feet 😂. Before people start stating the absolute OBVIOUS - I know, I know.... a 152 can't get up that high but that wasn't my point was it?

I believe the PC12 is rough field capable, are any of the others in this video also rough field capable?? Of course, one thing not mentioned in the video, the PC12 has a shitter, don’t think any of the others do.

For me, even a Malibu would be a major stretch. Yes, it only can do 2/3 the speed, but the costs are DRAMATICALLY lower.

If you can afford to buy any of these planes, you can more than likely afford the upkeep on a Honda Jet. I’d take the Honda any day over any of these birds.
