Hello - I'm curious about this power amp. Any idea if one of these would be better/worse/same as 2 x independent Triode power amps? And would a non-tube pre-amp like the Esoteric range be a good match with these tube power amps? Thanks!

Hello Eric. I have my eyes on the Luxman MQ-88uc myself. Have you ever been running the Falcons on the Luxman alone? If yes, how did they sound? Thanks in advance!

I run the Falcons now with the MQ88uc and matching CL38uc. Couldn't be happier. Amazing amps. My newest speakers are Sonus Faber Maxima Amators and finally a speaker I enjoy just a bit more than the Falcons 😁

Eric, how do you compare the sound of the 590 Class A 30W to the MQ-88UC. I have the 590AXII and would like to really incorporate the warmth of tubes but still use the preamp out of the Luxman 590. Your insight is appreciated!! Also, the 590 plays much bigger than the 30W rating. Does the MQ-88 project this power as well?

But short answer is yes. The MQ88uc is special and performs far past its modest rating. I also now have the CL38uc preamp, and it's a must have. I've used the 590 as a preamp as well with great results.
