I noticed that many people write to me in the comments that the stone wall I built does not have an adequate foundation and drainage for water! All of you who have watched my videos in turn, as well as those who have turned on the subtitles, are aware that the stone wall, like the house, rests on solid rock. (see episode 15) So digging a foundation in rock would make no sense. Also, if you watch episode 23, which will be available next Friday, you'll have a better understanding of what I'm talking about. As for the water, the work is not done yet! I hope I helped with this comment, thank you to everyone who follows my work🖖

I rebuilt a mid-terrace Victorian in London over half a decade working shoulder to shoulder with some of the BEST 'brickies' in London. I personally KNOW haow hard it is what you are achieveing. Where is it that you are building this wall (i.e. what country? you do not have to be specific to an exact location)? про водоотводные мероприятия тебе правильно говорят! Потому что когда горная масса избыточно насытиться водой, то склоны сходят со скальника шматом. Поинтересуйся на досуге грязе-селевыми потоками и углубись в тему, из чего они состоят. Поэтому делай за стенкой отсыпку щебнем, а дно под щебнем трамбуй глиной, чтобы был водоупорный слой, который не даст пропитать водой твои стены. И естественно вмуровывай над водоупорным слоем глины водосборные трубы с уклоном, чтобы нижний конец трубы выходил в водоотводную канаву. Не нужно изобретать велосипед! Все уже давно разработано и веками используется без каких либо последствий!

This is a stunning stone wall!! It is absolutely beautiful. I finally occurred to me why all of your projects look so wonderful, it is because you are meticulous and exact in your work. There is no substitute for being precise in measurements and preparation for the job and you have never settled for a “nice job”, your work is perfect! Zooey said you are strong as a beast and Safron wanted to help you with the BIG stone. I think those two fossils were an incredible discovery. My only concern was the drainage behind the wall. If water pools behind there, will it degrade concrete? Also, the water that accumulates and then freezes in winter expands, would that damage the wall in any way? I don’t know a thing about it, that is why I ask? The family sends you a big hug and great full wishes for everything you do. This was a big project to build and film and we appreciate so much. Take a hot bath to smooth your sore muscles and relax. See you soon!!
