I own the YSL College... it's older model. The quality is beautiful and I can't find a spot on it. Why don't you take the bag in to YSL and see if they can do something with the magnet. Of the 3 bags, this style and fit looks best on you, to me. Hope it works out for you. 💚

Seriously, who cares if its a fake. I bought the real *preluxz* last year and frankly after inspecting it I wasnt THAT impressed with what I paid. And the prices go up every year. Is Chanel increasing quality on the bags? Whats the justification for the increase? Because its helps with the hype. Its a marketing scheme. The more scarce they can make it the more people want it. Theres nothing wrong with this fake. I mean just because the chains dont jingle right LOL.

I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the overconsumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! I'm easily convinced to buy things I don't wear or use. They'll literally have the tags and I'll even forget I bought something and have 2 or 3 of them in my closet.) Love this video!

I have this bag in black. Had it for about 18 months, use it quite a bit but I look after it. I replace the tissue packed inside after every use, and store it in the dust bag inside the box it came in. To open it more easily, rather than tugging on the point of the flap, just slide a finger under the flap each side of the magnet squeeze and pull up. It works for me. I just love this bag. Thanks for the video - ps I don’t why they discontinued the grey colour, it’s so nice and really versatile 🤨

I have the medium college in black with black hardware and it is my most beautiful bag. Very happy with it, the magnet closure does not bother me. And I just sold my leather speedy that I did not love at all ;) . So yes, to each their own.

That’s a good honest review . And I agree with everything you said that closure would drive me nuts . I have two Celine bags and it’s taken me ages to get used to the closure on them and it still annoys me but I love the Celine bag so much I try not to get irritated about it . Sell it Debs put the money towards something else ❤ loving your honest videos x

I had a similar issue with the Pochette Metis. I just didn’t like how fiddly the clasp was to get in and out of. I’ve actually come to find that I don’t really prefer flap bags in general. I much prefer something with a zip top or something easier to get in and out of. I’ve really come to appreciate the Peekaboo and Birkin even more for this reason.

I think I tried to buy this exact bag but, unluckily for you, you beat me to it! I have tried one instore and the magnet did not seem nearly as strong as yours. 🤷My problem with the newer ones is the lack of colour choice, black plus a whole lot of beigey neutrals. Love this combo though.

That YSL bag looks beautiful on you. It fits you properly proportion-wise. It’s the correct size and strap length for your body. Out of the three bags you showed, it's my least favourite but it looks stunning on you with the CD bag coming in second. The Chanel bag strap is too short to be worn crossbody on you.

I’m about your age, same height and size and I wanted this bag for about 3 years and eventually I bought it in 2020. I then discovered I hate flap bags, got rid of most of them but kept this one (black with ruthenium) , my Céline classic and my puffer bag (grey with silver). However this bag I just can’t sell, there is something about it, every time I look at it I love it all over again. It’s looks so perfect on you, try and give it another go. I left the sticker on my magnet and I don’t pull from the tip, I slide my hand under. To close it you’ll learn it will just grab in the right place.

My take in my 50s is it MUST be functional. I don’t care how beautiful, if it doesn’t work it’s a no. It’s like that beautiful pair of Manolos you got on sale with their fine Italian leather that are just slightly too small. The more you wear them the more they will hurt your feet. No.

With regards to wear and tear, I think the previous owner must have trashed the bag a lot. I've had mine for more than ten years and there is no tear on any of the corners. Maybe the quality went down in recent years. I bought it right when it was released.

It’s very difficult to know. I have had a few people tell me the more recent models are not as high quality but it may have also been used a lot and not looked after 🤷‍♀️

I have the YSL Lou Lou and it has the same closure. I typically just leave the flap alone and as I'm walking, the magnet finds its home and latches on (granted I wear it as a shoulder bag so it's easier for the latch to find its home). At first, I tried to force it to latch and gave up after that. I have also noticed that with the lou lou being puffier, over time as I try to force the closure to latch, the closure has started to indent into the bag, so now I just leave it alone and deal with the bag not being fully closed. I'm not sure if that makes any sense.
