Soph, this may be my most favorite room for me in your home; which is hard to declare when they are all so breathtaking. I loved it as it was before the changes but even more so now. Love the two new antique chairs by the fireside with their beautiful carving in the lime washed finish. As well as that darling oval table piece in the lime wash finish. The carving is so exquisite. I too, love acorn and oak leaf motifs so much. Love nature inspired objects. I think I need that coffee table, perhaps this would be Mr SN proof. He has Killed Off the new one within a year, spilling cocktails after a few too many. The swivel chairs which are slipcovered constantly need to go in the wash. What can I say he is a bit of a wild Scottish Boy. The training is ongoing. The velvet performance sounds like where I should go next with my chairs for him. Leather here in Alberta dries out so quickly as is so dry on the prairies. Got so many fantastic tips from this video. Thanks so much for always being so kind to share with us all. So love all the little touches in this sitting room and all the thoughtfully considered details. Fan for life !

I love the way Sophie instills those small details which make such a big difference like the. like the fabric on the lamp and the way it spreads out a warm glow. Trust me it looks amazing at night. It really is cozy. The chair and the side table are such pretty finds. Bringing a little traditional in to mix with contemporary so that is not too cold. Even though everything is light coloured, the small details and colours give it some warmth so that it does not look clinical...

I watch and subscribe to a large number of interior design channels on KZbin, but I think this is the best room tour I’ve seen. For one thing, this room is so lovely-classic and contemporary mixed beautifully, soft and elegant. I love how you talked about nearly everything and gave reasons for including particular pieces, including the makers. Thank you so much for sharing your very helpful tips on styling a coffee table and other useful information, like the materials of your lampshades. Lastly, I agree with what you said about purchasing those items that have been made by artisans if at all possible, especially those that are trying to continue or bring back the “dying arts.” I subscribed.

My MIL is from Holland. She’s an amazing lady. My husband and I just built our first new home after being married for 37 years. We move in next week. I’m doing a Delph blue and white guest bedroom.
