I love hearing about luxury makeup, and reviews especially because it means I can decide if it's actually worth potentially saving up for. I would love to buy luxury makeup, but obviously not really viable on a student budget. One day I will no longer be a student and might be able to afford more. I mean currently I have to save up just for high end, sometimes even for more expensive drug store products.

It's so refreshing to see a youtuber being totally honest about this luxury makeup. I have a couple of you tubers that I used to watch constantly but now all they seem to use is high end or luxury makeup, and talk down about drugstore makeup, however any luxury products I have tried I have never been wowed about. I'm main stream in my make up. I love Too Faced, Urban Decay, some Mac, love Makeup Geek eyeshadows above any other, plus I have some drugstore products that I just love.

Tom Ford shadows are made to be sheer, it's really similar to the texture of many Japanese makeup. I actually am a fan because a lot of of western shadows are too chunky for me, which makes me look old. But the tom ford shimmers and glitters are one of my favourite because it's sooo fine and sooo smooth. So they are definitely not as pigmented as Too Faced or many other brands.

And by the way (I left the comment before finishing the video) I have oily skin and I tried the La Prarie powder foundation after watching Serein Wu review it - and let me tell you, I love it. It gives full coverage as Kathleen says, but it also melts perfectly into the skin and gives me a natural matte finish. After wearing it a couple of hours, it looks more semi-matte. Just wanted to mention that for all the girls with oily skin wanting to try a very good luxury powder foundation. I myself got 20% off of it, and that helps :)

I apply it with the sponge that comes with it - it works great! It doesn´t get caky or powdery or anything. I have also tried it with a brush to do lighter touch ups during the day, and that is also completely fine :) I haven´t tried to apply it with a brush though, because I like the full coverage it gives with the sponge due to my redness, but I can imagine it will look beautiful and more natural with a brush :)

I liked Kathleen's video a lot. I am a fan of Tati, but I feel like she's not as ready to give harsh reviews to luxury brands. Even on videos reviewing products that she described as just okay, or having had certain issues with, she will still say she likes it at the end. I think Tati is more afraid to give bad reviews to big brands and potentially burn a bridge to work with them in the future.

Im glad you did this video because some of us can't use drugstore because of allergies/being easily irritated. The only thing drugstore that doesn't irritate me is NYX and sometimes that can even irritate me. Everything else breaks me out, makes my eyes irritated causing styes/itchiness, etc.

I think most luxury brands' products aren't super pigmented because they go for more of a minimal makeup look that most middle-aged women would prefer, rather than the more popular instagram, heavy-makeup look that the younger population is into.

This clearly shows you have very little experience with high end/luxury make-up; I only buy luxury make-up; they are generally very pigmented. I'm not a brand snob, but what you have to understand is that you're not just paying for the name; there's a reason the product costs more; the ingredients and formers they use are of higher quality and more expensive. So you get better pay off and longevity. I actually know people who work in the industry on a scientific/production level. Of course, there are crap products even in the luxury range; sometimes they get it wrong.

I adore the intro of this video and the way you approached this kind of video and products. i find myself totally agreeing with you. i think it's insane, non-ethical and absurd how much some products cost and i can't afford most high end ones, go figure these luxury ones (today i had to turn down some ud palettes) but i wouldn't buy any makeup over a certain price range anyway cause i think it's not right to and not worth it to spend your money that way, and i'm so happy that someone finally spoke my mind about price not necessarely meaning quality and about not necessarely being sad not to afford them. that what makes you the down to earth, real, honest, humble, one of us youtuber that everybody loves. i now respect you even more.

I just had to throw this out there..I LOVE the fact that you are harder on luxury makeup brands because of the price tag, I see SO many youtubers who criticize drug store makeup when if it had MAC or NARS label on it they are LESS hard on the makeup, whereas I would expect it to be the other way around..I would have a way higher standard for the expensive makeup not the drug store. So thank you for this REAL review!
