We had our wedding here, it was amazing. Almost $15k charged to Chase Hyatt for 4x points. The massages by the beach were worth doing every day

Enjoyed our stay there. It was over a year ago now. Definitely need to have the preferred access to fully enjoy the resort. Thought it was good value. Honest review agree with your ratings 100%.

Currently at secrets playa blanca Cancun as I’m watching this review. Playa Blanca opened up this year and it’s very nice and food is great here so far. We had the French for dinner tonight bourdeaux and I ordered short ribs.. but there was no bone. But apps and dessert were good. Nice to see what other resorts are like but don’t think I will be visiting this one based off your review.

Hi! I can see there are 2 rooftop pools. Do you only have access to them if you are preferred club? Or is 1 of them open to all Secrets guests? Also is the a preferred club really worth it? Why?
@MaxMilesPointsАй бұрын
The upper rooftop pool is Preferred Club the lower pool is open to everyone. I didn't pay for Preferred Club since it was complimentary for being Hyatt globalist. If I had to pay for it, it really depends on how much you value a less crowded pool, better service and a few extra lounge areas.

Thanks, I was in PV last month and was deciding between Baha Mia vs Vallarta Bay. We chose the VB due to its closeness to downtown. But I’m happy to be able to see how BM is. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the vid heading there later this winter (preferred also). 2 quick questions: I see there's a new building out in the distance, was there any noise from that? And I couldn't find online whether the room's balcony plunge pool was a jacuzzi (heated) or more of a mini pool?
@MaxMilesPoints4 ай бұрын
No noticeable noice from the construction, and the balcony pool is a plunge pool , I heated and not a jacuzzi

We went to the Zoetry in Punta Cana and I have to say in terms of food quality it was one of the best for the multiple all inclusive resorts we’ve tried. All the restaurants are ale Carte so food was fresh and felt like high end dining restaurants. Definitely was worth it when it was 25k a night before the devaluation. Not to sure now at 40k a night.

We loved secrets maroma! Fully adults only and beautiful beach. The only problem with all inclusive is you’ll rarely ever find a 5/5 food place. Everything is like 3-4/5.

Max, thanks for posting this and being candid about your experience. I recently saw a review of the same resort by another KZbin couple and their experience could not have been more different. I was thinking you guys stayed at entirely different results. Now I am feeling that they were being overly happy/positive or they really did have much lower standards for the food and service. May I ask what sunglasses you’re wearing? Thanks.

Ah! this is why you were in Tijuana! I went Puerto Vallarta three years ago at another all inclusive (can't remember name). You where near punta mita, and the underground beach! did you visit there? You gave me a lot to think about staying in resorts vs exploring around. Huevos rancheros, quesadillas, birria are usually better outside of resorts! If you know spanish, I suggest you both to explore outside more. That is what I am going to do in Merida, even if they only have a hyatt place there.

I stayed at Secrets Akumal and went mainly for the very swimmable beach because we snorkel. We actually liked the Japanese/Asian fusion restaurant best. Didn’t try the French food ironically, menu was a turn off. I was disappointed by the Mexican restaurant. The food was lukewarm. Did this resort not come with a preferred club breakfast option? That is what we did almost daily to avoid the buffet chaos.

Stayed on the Dreams side last year. Very disappointing as far as food goes. Good video thanks

yeah we wandered over to the Dreams side a few times to check out the restaurants and never ate over there because it all looked so disappointing lol

Does globalist status give you other benefits here, other than the preferred club access

Punto Burros is an amazing surf spot in the summer, although a lot of the beach is gated by resorts. I stayed here to surf and caught some of the best waves of my life here. Sea turtles left and right, whales breaching in the distance. There's a surf rental shop a 5 minute walk from the hotel. One thing I do NOT recommend you do is open up your mouth in the ocean. One morning I was surfing, the lineup of surfers and I concluded we caught ourselves surfing in actual sewage, I will spare some details here on what i saw... Sayulita an hour away is notorious for this issue, but I was surprised to experience swimming in human scum right in front of this resort. I'm assuming it was a neighboring property and know there is nothing the resort can do to control the ocean current, but I am still scarred from that experience. To be transparent, it happened only one morning of the three nights I stayed there. That said, the taco stand restaurant was excellent for lunch. Coco is amazing for coffee and fresh fruit cups in the morning. It's nice they rushed you through check in, because they tried selling us hard on room upgrades, additional vacation packages... wish they were busier when I was there! I think it's a good hotel for families.

How do you have SO many hyatt/chase points?😂
@MaxMilesPoints4 ай бұрын
I earn Chase points like everyone else does. I get some extra referral points every once in a while for referrals. I also have family members that earn a lot of Chase points. I earn a lot of Amex points. I “trade” them points. I book flights for them they book hotels for me

Im not a fan of secrets resorts. It’s a luxurious wedding destination resort for old couples. I’ve been to 3 and they’re all the same. No real night life. Im only 32 and still like to party. Breathless is more my vibe
