Really enjoyed your chat and honesty Brittany. Hoping you can find a good friend nearby. I didn’t even realise BFF sites existed. 😃Like you I have friends who are very special to me but we have all moved around and spread around the globe over the years. My dream would be to have everyone in one place but I doubt that will ever happen. So long as I have a few good friends nearby, along with my husband, twenty something sons and my brother, I am happy. I’ve done Sunday ‘spa’ treatments for years….. my grooming time and a nice refresh to start the new week. Thanks for your content, I don’t often comment, but I always watch and enjoy. 👍🏾Deb

Hi Deb! It’s always so nice to hear from you. Thank you for being here! I agree that having a few good friends close by along with family is lovely. I didn’t know about Bumble BFF until quite recently myself! It’s a cool concept but definitely takes some time to find likeminded people. Sunday spa treatments are the best! I love that you have been doing these for yourself regularly. Turning our bathrooms into little spas is such a nice little luxury. I hope you have a wonderful Monday and rest of the week! 💕

Oh hunny its a nice day...i had a reslly nice week...went on a date with my husband on a Wednesday!! Guess what i wore? My very first Hermes lipstick!! I told myself i would NEVER spend that kind of money on one lipstick but after years of lusting for that shade (Rose Zinzolin) i gave in...and do not REGRET a thing!! I think of you whenever i hold it in my hand...like a little secret we share... LUXE LIP PRODUCTS!! 🤣 I would like to save this video to watch later tonight (with wine yes ) but cannot wait!! @@bornblushingI just finished the video & I love this type of getting to know you/self care video!! And yeah what's with all the hiking...ugh!! 😅 It is hard to make friends as an adult I find as well. But my main problem is my best friend was my mom who passed away a few years ago & my grandma too. And I haven't had a real friend my own age really since college/beauty school as I always preferred older people. Even my husband is older than me!! But I was that person everyone seemed to tell me their problems or secrets to...I am a very good listener!! 😊

@@pinksparkle258 I'm so sorry to hear about your mum and grandma. That must be so difficult. ❤ It's SO hard to find that kind of connection in friendships, and I can relate to exactly what you're saying in that you prefer older people. I'm the same way! One of my dearest friends is in his 60s! Old souls tend to be the best listeners, I find. 💕 And I'm realising that it's an exceedingly rare quality to find in people nowadays! What a shame you don't live in Vancouver. 😉 So glad you loved this video! Thank you for always being here! 💕

This video was such a treat! It was fun and so relaxing. I also love when my skincare routine can feel more like a pampering ritual and my bathroom can feel like a little oasis, your routine looks so lovely btw and your skin looks amazing! I also enjoyed the chat, I’m also struggling so much to make friends as an adult, it feels like it should be easier in a way but it’s definitely not! And with some of my few current friendships I got that same feeling where it’s like I feel so drained and that’s not something I want in my life at all, but oh well hopefully we’ll find what we’re looking for. Thank you so much for sharing, hope you’re well!💕

Hi Natalia! It's always so lovely to hear from you. I'm glad you enjoyed this video! I can definitely relate to your feelings of draining friendships. It's certainly not like how it was when we were kids! What kind of skincare are you using at the moment? 💕

@@bornblushing I know! Right now, I'm at that point where I'm forcing myself to finish up skincare products & figuring out how to improve my routine without making impulsive decisions that I might regret later on, so I feel like it's a bit messy & not super exciting atm😅 but mainly I still use my fave Biologique Recherche cleanser (Lait U) + the Macrene Actives cleanser, the Venn mist, I just finished up the Marie Veronique Barrier Restore Serum and I'm so sad because I feel like it really improved my skin and gave the most beautiful glow, so now I'm trying to use up serums I have from previous purchases: Royal Fern's Purifying Solution, Venn's Cica Complex Booster and In Fiore's Fleur Vibrante, and I'm eyeing the Manasi7 Chanua Serum, and for cream, I'm actually using Violette FR's C'est La Cream which surprisingly has been working pretty well for me. I've also discovered a serum from a brand called skinbetter science called Mystro Active Balance Serum which looks like perfection but I'm still not sure if I'll get it, have you heard anything from this brand?. Hope you're well and that you have a lovely week!💕

@@nataliar163 You'll feel so good when you finish up your products before moving onto your favourites again, Natalia! I know the struggle all too well, but it's so rewarding once everything is finally used up. 💕 YES! I've heard of Skinbetter Science since the boutique I buy products from now carries the line. I'm very curious to try! It's apparently amazing. Please let me know if you try it! That's great to know about Violette's C'est La Cream -- I remember being interested during its launch but didn't purchase for some reason. I heard that BR's Lait U has been discontinued and is being replaced with Lait S.R! I do wonder why they discontinued Lait U because it is such a well-loved cleanser. 💕
@nataliar163 Жыл бұрын
@@bornblushing I know, thank you, I must hang in there and finish those products up! How nice that you have a boutique that sells Skinbetter Science, I do wish I had a place like that where I could see and maybe try the products in person. I'm still debating whether to get their Mystro serum or a Marie Veronique one that I know works well for me, especially because my skin has been a bit more irritated, if I do try the Mystro one I'll definitely let you know! I also was interested in the C'est La Cream when it launched but when I saw that it had shea butter I decided not to get it because it breaks me out, but I saw it in a store in NY and I decided to give it a try and fortunately, it hasn't broken me out. I know it's so sad that BR is discontinuing the Lait U, I saw that besides releasing the Lait S.R. there's also a Lait Dermo-S which is for sensitive skin so I can't wait to get that one, hopefully it is even better than my beloved Lait U! Hope you're well, and that you have a lovely week!💕

This was such a fun video! It felt a little like a girlie sleepover and it was relaxing. Thank you for not showing the contact removal. I know it's silly, but I totally have a thing with eyes. It was so interesting to see how much product you use. Its such a tiny detail, but it still intrigued me. And the friendship chat was very relatable. Canadians must be distantly related to Germans because Germans also seem to be obsessed with hiking. They *say* they're going for a walk. But they *mean* a hike. And as someone who has also moved a lot between continents and various cities, you put it so well. It really does like we missed the boat in some ways. As great as it is to make new friends, it's impossible to make old friends. And making friends as an adult really is a completely different ballgame. Especially because we know ourselves better, which means we know more about what we want. And that makes us picky. I don't think it's a bad thing, but it does mean that it's generally harder to make friends. Your "frivolous" quirks were so funny! When you said you were trying to keep your skincare as minimal as possible, I laughed. Just because what people like you (and me and every other beauty lover) consider "simple" is probably considered "the most" by most people. 😂 This was a genius video, Brittany. I never would have known that talking on camera doesn't come naturally to you if you hadn't said it. ❤

I’m so happy you enjoyed this! The girly, intimate sleepover was exactly the energy I wanted this video to have, so hearing you say that makes me happy! You have an observant eye! It wasn’t until you commented about that that I realised I use a lot of cleanser but very little of the other products. Oh yes. I’ve been tricked into hikes a few times, and to say I was not pleased is a massive understatement. I totally agree that making *old* friends is the kind of platonic intimacy that we crave, yet it is so difficult and almost impossible to achieve as we get older. History and memories really are a kind of social glue, allowing people to connect. Oh yes, minimal. It’s amazing I could say that with a straight face, isn’t it? Must be a lot like “hiking”: very open to a loose interpretation. 😉 Thank you so much for always being here, Stephanie! Your comments always make these videos worth it. ❤️

I am so very excited to Watch your new series. I will be doing them with you. I love the background music so relaxing. Did you know there is a La Mer spa playlist on Spotify? I agree with the friendships. I am 35 and as I have developed a higher standards in life I have noticed that it’s harder to make new friends as a lot of people have been a disappointment. I also wish I could have a friend in the states where I am where I could go shopping for skin care and make up without being judged for where I like to spend my money and where my priorities are. I think we would be good friends . I wished we lived closer together. I used to have a friend in college who inspired me to wear my nice clothes and look glamorous every day. So many people are too casual nowadays and not as inspirational. Life is too short and it’s going by too fast not to enjoy every little thing. Anyways I’m over the moon to be getting new videos from you. I hope you’re well Britney. ❤

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you again for the suggestion and encouragement. ❤ I did not know that there's a La Mer playlist on Spotify! What it is called? I just tried looking it up, but I could not find it. I can completely relate to being disappointed by a lot of people. It's funny, I used to have a very active and busy social life, but it was a lot like a condensed and bloated makeup collection: a lot of choices, but no favourites. I feel like I've done a friendship declutter and am starting over again. And I totally understand what you mean about judgement on where your money goes! It's funny you mention that about what people wear. I know exactly what you're talking about. People here always look like they're on their way to the gym or going camping. It took me four years of living here to finally buy a pair of sneakers! It's a shame we do not live closer, but I'm so happy you found my channel! Always here if you want to chat. ❤

@bornblushing Жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you so much. I am so glad you found my channel! For mature eyes, I highly recommend Sisley's Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream -- more specifically their All Eyes on Sisley Set, which includes that cream and their Eye Contour Mask (which I also adore). My mum rolls her eyes at the luxury skincare I use, but even she immediately bought that eye set after trying some samples of it. It's very rich, luxurious, but gentle at the same time. I hope this helps! 💕

I know exactly what you mean.. Vancouver is a very "transient" city - people come and go, not many stick around long term. I'd say that 98% of my friends moved away over the past decade (either because of marriage or jobs or cost of living).
@bornblushing Жыл бұрын
You’re so right! It’s very transient here. I’ve also had friends move away for those reasons. I’ve had some luck with Bumble BFF, but it certainly takes time for a stable friendship to evolve, and people tend to stay within their own bubble as well. Thank you for sharing! 💕
