Your best to keep the heater on for much longer. Short periods can clog up the heaters with soot. Keep it at a medium flow/heat and then ramp it up before turning off to burn any soot off. Just speaking from experience, jealous of your rig!

Hey so I’m a HVAC guy and if your air intake is under that floorboard I suspect you run a much greater risk of the heater going into high limit shut off mode. I at least suggest that you move the cold air return to an open space. Not a small enclosed space. Love your channel. Stay warm up there! Sending love from Ohio!

The heater has a thermostat and a setting which is just past the reading on the control of 720 . If you set it on that it will cycle on and off automatically when the heater drops below your desired temp.

I use a small fan to blow the hot air around, you could direct it up into your bed loft, pointing it from the where the heat comes out of that small vent put a fan on the floor pointing up into the top of your Papa. You won’t believe how hot is gonna get up there👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@9:15 I would feel much better if you would continue that heater exhaust pipe further out and half way up. so that the wind doesnt blow the "deadly" fumes under the chassis. heavy overnight snowfall could build up and block off any feasible escape route for the fumes and the fumes could build up inside your sleeping area. you can buy flexible exhaust pipe to do the job I think.

Then of course I have a second Chinese heater packed away as a backup to my backup. I tear mine down once a year to clean it. Easy peasie. Have u seen the salad kit hack. buy a salad kit. buy tortillas. and a protein like chicken. then ya just cook up in a pan your chicken and toss on a tilla. then add the lettuce from your kit and add the dressing that comes with and bam ya got a dank burrito and didn't have to cut up the fixings. i saw it on you tube fishing n more. mav and merta made them. ice fishing. anyway just a good easy meal.

Diesel heaters usually take on low gallon for about 30 to 36 hours on on high 11 hours per gallon.

The van looks awesome, Ria, and Blue looks even better! It’s going to be really nice having the diesel heater for you and Blue during your cold weather travels and on those cold weather nights! I’m unable to have a dog of my own, due to my crazy work schedule, so I’m able to enjoy that experience vicariously through your videos and Blue. As that I’m now an empty nester, and both of my kids have flown the coop, and are living their own lives, and pursuing their own dreams, I get lonely at times. My work schedule makes it difficult to hang out with friends, and to socialize with them, so I’m thinking 🤔 💭 of adopting (rescuing) two kitties 🐈‍⬛, instead. Until then, though, I’m going to continue watching your video segments and enjoying Blue, his antics, and your companionship, vicariously. My daughter’s ex boyfriend had an Australian Shepherd who’d looked just like Blue, including the blue eye. Man, he and I had sure loved one another, with our bonding process occurring fairly quickly. Like Blue, who looks great, btw, he’d get into his moods and would begin acting mischievously at times, as well, nibbling at my hands and biting them just as Blue had done with you. One of his favorite stunts was to run toward me at a full gallop and to then launch himself into the air, and into my arms, from 4-5 feet away. Unfortunately, he wasn’t my daughter’s dog, but that of her boyfriend, instead, so I’d lost contact with that special doggie when they’d broken up and my daughter had left him. I was extremely proud of her for standing up for herself, and being assertive in leaving him, but I’ve also missed that awesome doggie ever since, which is another reason why I enjoy spending time with Blue vicariously, and through your video segments, as I do. Once again, as I’ve stated before, because my daughter is roughly your same age, please be cautious out there, okay? There are a lot of nuts 😵‍💫😜 out there who have fallen out of the tree of life and who are very evil and dangerous monsters, so please protect yourself. Lastly, I’ve been saying prayers for you and Blue, your family, friends and for the good health of all of you, most especially, Blue. Congratulations on the upgrades to the van, once again, Ria! 🎈🎊🍾🥂🎉 🥳

Blue looks like hes doing well. Hope that continues. I get about 55 hrs from a ten liter tank running full tilt. I'd run it on high for ten minutes once every few days and burn out the combustion chamber. And yeah, Eberspachers are expensive. Nice though.

rip. the chinese diesel heaters are like $200 bucks, install shouldn't take more than 3 hours labor. The best one is from Lavaner since they have a 2000w unit vs the 5,000W units that everyone buys and overheats them out of their campers. the eberspachers are nice, but they're really super expensive for what they give you. charging the jackery, you just need something like a cheap victron orion dc/dc charger and you're good to go as long as you drive for 3 - 4 hours a day. love that you're gettin' it every day, keep up the hard work!

I'm only a few minutes in so maybe you mention it later, but I forget...do you have a block heater for your rig when it's cold? I recently picked up a Jackery, but I have yet to use it to warm my diesel engine when it's very cold. (it was -21 a week or two ago).
