Our house refrigerator died a few days ago and I pulled my Iceco and Edgestar camping fridges inside the house to keep the food cool & frozen. I told my wife we were going Ria style with our food for a few days, and she had this look , like I'd lost my mind.... If you get an old percolator coffee pot, you'll be surprised what you can cook in it. Pastas, corn on the cob, popcorn (my favorite) and even hot coffee! It is really good for cooking foods you need to strain the water off of.

@missingremote4388 I use coconut oil for popping my popcorn. About a tablespoon. It takes some experimenting to get the ratio right. But it will pop a big bowl full or just enough for 1. Just remove the percolator parts and use about a tblsn of oil (enough to coat the kernals and a handful of popcorn. Heat on high and shake occasionally to keep from burning the popcorn kernels. I like to use coconut butter and coconut sugar boiled together with pecans as a topping. But that's just me! Kinda fun to surprise my campsite mates (grandkids) with hot popcorn and some hot coco drink around the campfire.

On our last road trip I bought these, for lack of better words, pee bags. It has the gel that baby diapers have in them, bought them on Amazon. Life saver for when I don’t want to adventure out in the elements from the roof top tent. I just open the window and place it on the outside of the truck until the morning. Humble suggestions. You can cook all this using one pan. Always start with the protein. 1. Meat needs to rest to redistribute juices anyway and 2. Pasta is best cooked last to prevent both adhering to each other if drained or continuing to absorb liquid if not drained. In this case, the drippings in the pan will also flavor the pasta water as well if you go meat first.

You might get better results with cookie baking if you can find a small wire oven rack to sit inside the pan in order to elevate the food item away from the hot pan base, then put some heavy duty aluminium foil on the rack that the cookie dough then sits on. Finally, find a heavy duty saucepan lid that will fit snugly over the pan in order to create a copy of a Dutch oven. Might work!👍

Maria, nice job on the pasta. You can save some time and clean up by getting the ready made pasta in a bag in frozen section. They have pene with chicken and others already made. You just put in frying pan, cover, and ready in 10-12 minutes. No boiling water or need to cut up chicken.

I once bought a jeep Cherokee for 800 bucks and saw 48 states in that jeep. Lived in it for two years. You learn from your mistakes life is simple. You will get better and more comfortable the longer you do it. Id highly recommend looking into pomoly wood stoves. They are light weight and packable and you can remove the smoke stack when you're traveling. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY YOU WILL THANK ME LATER. works great for drying clothes and its just a comfortable vibe. Wish you luck on your adventures. Personally i didnt know about the wood stoves so i spent two years using candles and dressing warm which wasnt a safe move lol

Pro tip: boil the chicken before cooking the pasta, then fish out the chicken (or better yet, get or make a pot-fitted strainer set) then boil the pasta in the same hot ass water. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces, don’t worry if a thick piece isn’t quite done-we are gonna give it another pan fry; season chicken, set aside. Ideally, if you enjoy actual cooking, get a lower BTU butane stove to cook on. If you have a large bowl, strain the hot water into that so you can set the open jar in it to warm up. In a skillet (preferably on something other than a jet boil, melt some butter and add the chicken for browning (1-2 minutes) then throw in the sauce to warm it up for another few minutes. Throw that hot water into the jet boil for later, cuz you need that warm large bowl for the pasta now. When sauce/chicken is warmed up throw that in with the pasta (maybe add fresh spinach) and toss together. You could have boiled all the chicken earlier and set some aside for tomorrow, rather than keeping raw chicken in your fridge.
