You should get a Kit Cat clock, black with the white bow tie, the traditional one. They are about $100 and look awesome. I have one coming soon.

I love the quarter repeater pocket watch the best followed by the Hong Kong bird clock. Would love to own these pieces. You so lucky. Keep collecting these beautiful items mate.

this is becoming one of my favorite watch channels on youtube. your presentation style is very pleasant and informative - and your pride in your collection of quirky items is very apparent. i really enjoyed listening to this and seeing your interesting and personal items. my favorite would probably be the beautiful jumping hours pocket watch. definitely get it fixed! the luxor desk clock is also gorgeous.

Thank you Chuck, I really appreciate your feedback. I try to diversify the channel as much as I can and not just hover around the most popular brands as I hope is apparent so far. :)

THIS is what i really like about a watch collection. When you have a few that you really appreciate for various reasons and functions. And not just to collect for the sake of collecting. Each and every single clock and watch in this video really is an absolute timeless beauty (no pun intended) and they are really covering a nice broad spectrum of different types and uses. The alarm pocket watches in particular are really beautiful.

Your collectables are so cool. I have always like pocket watches because of the beautiful movements. This video has inspired me to start a small pocket watch collection that I have always wanted to do. Love this channel because of the passion of mechinics, so refreshing compared all the watch channels always talking about investments in watches and flipping. This video is the reason why I have a been a collector many many years ago, as I am not interested in the money side of it, which I feel in recent years spoiled my hobby. Thank you Marko, I really enjoyed this video.

Thank you Richard for your kind comment as usual, collecting pocket watches is fun, inexpensive in most cases and I am always happy when I find something new. Got another one coming soon :).
@richardman283 жыл бұрын
@@SwissWatchGang yes, they are jot that expensive considering the age and the movement and workmanship involved. It's actually value for money. I inherited an omega pocket watch which is not working and now been sent to Switzerland for repair. Hopefully, it will arrive back before chrsitmas and hopefully many more will follow.

2:36 the areas shown are called ‘brassing’ and are caused when the layer of rolled gold wears through, exposing the base metal underneath. The repeater is awesome :-)

This video was really cool! Love that you get enjoyment out of simple and inexpensive watches/clocks. That's what the hobby is really about. The alarm clock was very nice and clean. I usually don't like world timers in watches because they make the dial very busy but that desk clock is superb! I'll probably be adding a 3-axis 3D printed Tourbillon desk clock soon since they can be had for cheap and are a treat to look at. The question is, will it be too big and loud to have at my office desk 😂
@SwissWatchGang3 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the kindness! I also started buying watchmaking tools now xD. I think i'm officially a horder now... I need that 3D tourbillon desk clock, I know which one you're talking about!

I was watching this episode with my son and he noticed the way "Tokio" is spelled on your Luxor desk clock. He learned in history that the spelling of "Tokio" was the common spelling up to 1890, where after the name changed to the common spelling we're familiar with as "Tokyo". Had something to do with the emperor of the time moving to Tokio and changing the spelling for the "new & improved" capital.

Can you tell me from which Auction House in Switzerland do you buy these "great deals". When you had your video with Marc from Watches TV, you both mentioned some cool auction house in Switzerland where you get bargains, but did not name it. Would really appreciate if you provide more information, I also live in Switzerland.

There's just something incomparable when it comes to the sound of a pocket watch minute repeater. Yes, technically a watch is more difficult to manufacture, but the added size of the pocket watch gives for better resonance and tones. Also, being able to get a pocket watch with inner angle polishing? Likely crazy value in comparison to how much you paid. A wrist watch with that kind of finishing would cost so much more than that.... Love the pieces. Congrats!
