For anyone wondering about difference between edit mesh and edit poly .... edit mesh is a simpler and faster modifier (in the stack) and edit poly offers more powerful editing tools but is slower in the stack.

First one could be made easier with Corona/vray curvature? Or is there any other pros by using data channel?
@jakedenham2 ай бұрын
Yes agreed. I am going through each modifier 'out of the box'. Same with the displacements. Normally I would use V-Ray or Corona, but hopefully this will serve more as reference for all 3ds Max users.

Maybe not always the best choice for curvature but data channel can do some pretty amazing stuff, check out renderram's procedural rust tutorial using it

……Nervously clicks on “create patch” after using max for 23 years….. Seriously though that’s a cool result at 4:52
