Are the songs from Neon White? New T4 lvl.10s are a lot stronger than T3 lvl.10s. 40% on each skill that you have a damage gem on vs 63% on each skill you have a damage gem on and 13.2% on every other skill. Also the new T4 lvl.8s are 48% each skill/8.8% rest for a big power spike from T3 if you had a full set of 10s. Damage gems still provide a larger increase than CD so it makes sense if there is a slight premium. Lvl.9 damage gems also used to go for a 1-5k premium sometimes so something around 10k for current DMG lvl.10s still makes sense. I sold all my damage gems and bought CD gems since I wasn't willing to pay the 90k premium on each gem to be a big stronger for 3 months(this was like 3 days after loaon). You clearly were and that's why you kept yours or you sold and rebought.

When I gamble combining high level gems, if I want damage I do that on one of my supports, if I want cool down, I use a dps character. I've done that on every level 9 and 10 gem gamba and it's about 80% effective.

Gems are worthless in T4, the scaling on level 9 and 10 gems are really bad. Not counting the AP level 6->7 on t4 is only 3.12% and level 9->10 on t4 is only 2.85% dmg increase on one skill. T3 was 7.69% from level 9 to 10. The AP increase is additive with all your gems and its 0.1% up to 5, 0.15% to 7, and 0.2% to 8 and beyond. There's just not much reason to go above level 8 until very late in progression because there's way better things to spend your gold on like honing, new ancient accs, new gold sinks coming in the next raids. You also want to keep T3 level 10 if you have a single high damage skill like Destroyer/Arti etc.

Afaik lvl 9 gems are worth converting 10's, however I've heard other wise

If you multiple of same class then gems are still good value for your roster
