I'm from Missouri and when I catch a carp I kill it and take it to a place that I know has a lot of turtles thatll eat it in the water or I take it to someone who knows how to clean them and cook them. carp fishing is a lot of fun but I don't like them in the rivers where they are invasive. and fun fact the only carp that ain't invasive In the USA is common carp and the biggest one of those I've caught was about 10lbs and I put it back in water cause their native to USA waters
@BoAngles6 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thanks for commenting! You’re certainly partly right, it is cool to see someone who also enjoys carp fishing! If you catch Asian carp - silver, big head or black carp, you should not return it into the water so eggs do not continue to spread. Common carp/mirror carp mutations are considered a naturalized species throughout the United States, however they are not native to the US, and not many people fish for them, which is why some states see them as invasive. They were brought here in the 1800’s however, similar to the ring-necked pheasant.

Carp eat eggs and they over populate so other fish can spawn
@BoAngles3 жыл бұрын
That’s what people say anyway- I’ve never seen anyone scuba dive down to watch them eat eggs, have you? Now, if something is floating and looks like food, I wouldn’t doubt that they may eat it, including eggs... but trout and salmon eat eggs all the time, and you don’t see anyone making a fuss about them. Most people worry about bass populations... which hardly anyone eats and only chase after them for a fun fight. Carp put up 2-3x more of a fight, and yet they aren’t listed as a sport fish? Smells fishy if you ask me.
@austinmartinez85063 жыл бұрын
@@BoAngles well technically they don’t eat the eggs they destroy them with their tails and destroy all the beds
@BoAngles3 жыл бұрын
@@austinmartinez8506 now that’s even funnier, I haven’t heard that one before! People will make up the craziest things to make carp look bad! I heard their lips are so big, they become too attractive to bass, so then the bass don’t reproduce as well because they keep hooking up with carp! Therefore, carp are demons from hell.
@hoofed30963 жыл бұрын
@@BoAngles I know i’m late but the reason carp aren’t a sport fish in America is because the aren’t really as common as bass. In Europe, every body of water has some sort of carp.
@BoAngles3 жыл бұрын
@@hoofed3096 You know, a 'Sport Fish' is defined as "a type of fish that is prized for the sport it gives the angler in its capture, rather than for its value as food." A lot of people have turned away from eating both Bass and Carp as a food source, but both are readily accessible and a great fight. Essentially, any lake/pond in the mid-to-western United States with Bass was stocked to be like that on purpose... and its a similar story for Carp. Unfortunately people only frown on shooting Bass with a bow, and not Carp. Makes you wonder why no one considers Bass populations 'out of control' but Carp species are. Sounds awful fishy to me! ;) (in more ways than one!)

I mean, the real answer is that as a content creator, you want people to come back for you- not the game. You move on to another game and if the people are just there for the game... then they won’t follow you. So, I always make my videos half about me, essentially. Heads up for you if you ever want to start your channel- if you’re a sucky person that comments nonsense on peoples videos, you’ll probably lose them if you move onto another game.
