Anyone can make one of these if you have the right components.Getting the correct number of wire turns would be experimental.

Yes, the number of turns of the wire depends on the appropriate ferrite rod. It may be easier to remove the correct parts from a bad radio.

They are self-made by amateurs. They can be made from parts removed from bad radios or from new parts bought from a store. It requires ferrite antennas and a rotating capacitor. They are easy to make.

There is a place that sells them….with the little attached tuning knob. Works great if the built in ferrite rod in the radio is smaller. The boost for smaller radios is quite noticeable. Nice 🙂 But if the radio already is large with a big ferrite antenna, then the boost is minimal. I find it useful…. Happy I bought one. I can’t remember where I got it, but it was online. Mine has red end caps. Reasonable cost.
