Even with the impeccable workmanship, I think the 380 version is asking too much for this micro pistol, specifically the wear and tear on the piece. The .32 version is much more forgiving.

I agree, but I have to try it anyway- LOL… I will add this, Underwood Ammunition produces a 55gr solid copper Lehigh projectile round in regular and +P for the .32acp. I have fired both through my Competition Electronics chronograph. Underwood advertises the velocities at 950 and 1050 respectively. My readings were basically +100fps more than the factory rating on the box of each I tested. In fact, I was so impressed with the fact that it actually went that much faster that I had to shoot up that entire box and into another one of each to be sure of what was happening. The +P ammunition will dent the trigger finger, and it should as it approaches .380 in muzzle energy. Yes.. 1150 is a good average, and most were slightly above 1150- from a 2” barrel…. I did notice some case bulging, but had no issues ejecting. The standard velocity rounds did not bulge, but for some odd reason I had FTL issues with this ammunition that did not happen with the +P. All firearms are different, that’s what happened with mine. My Seecamp is completely coated with Microlon Gun juice dry lubricant, and so doesn’t have the chamber crud usually associated with the proper functioning of this firearm. Best of luck!

@@whynotthinkwhynot- Bought my Guardian from NAA - they cleaned up the Seecamp design & I bought mine in .32NAA which is a proprietary cartridge designed by the guy who invented Cor-Bon ammunition. It's a .380 case necked down to take a 60-gr .32 bullet at just under 1,300 fps. And it's totally reliable..!! :-)

Whalley precision bought the seecamp company about 6 years ago from Larry's son. I purchased one of the Whalley guns 4 months ago and it was a lemon. The slide kept locking back and would not feed. The ammo was getting stuck in the chamber and I could not manually extract the round. Having owned many guns this gun was not manufactured to specification and they ran a bad batch of these 380acp. I called Whalley sentvthe gun in to them and they sent me a brand new gun with no questions asked . The slide on the new gun is smoother, can extract the round manually and the magazines seems to fit better in the magazine well. Will shoot it this week so hopefully all is good.

Great video👍👍.I always like to know the negative including the positive of any gun I buy. I bought myself a 32tomcat.The magazine has issues of bowing out and not feeding correctly. I believe it’s because too much tension in the spring versus the ultrathin folding metal magazine. I’m going to order a new magazine to see if this cures the issue. I love the little Tomcat it fits a niche in my gun collection.🤔🤔 It should be named Fatcat instead of Tomcat because of the weight and width issues. Stuff happens in life which case if you find yourself one handed the tomcats way to go as an just in case gun.

Good video! There's no doubt the Seecamp is a beautiful gun...however it is not w/o it's flaws. I don't think I'd want one in 380, that's probably too much pressure for that tiny pistol. I opted for the NAA Guardian in 32acp. $380 and u can shoot a wider range of ammo, it has a more conventional takedown, no magazine disconnect safety. All stainless. I've had mine for about 5 years....and it's pretty rock solid.

Try taking the extractor and pin out, leave it out and shoot a magazine or two. When you get the new extractor from the factory, clean the slide, install the new pin and extractor. Of course test fire. The extractor is only really needed to remove unfired cartridges from the chamber. The way it appears in your video may be hampering the extraction on fired empty cases.

These guns were originally intended to have the main spring replaced every hundred rounds or so too. Not sure if the new owners tell people or recommend that these days but that might help with the ftf's since you've been enjoying it so long. 😊

Well shot my lws380 replacement gun and after 50 rounds the extractor flew off the gun. Sent it back to Whalley Precision and they replaced the extractor assembly. When I got it back I went to shoot another 50 rounds and AGAIN the extractor flew off the gun. I sent the gun back and told them I want a new 32acp model. They honored my request. The company stands behind thier guns but stay away from the 380acp model. Its to powerful and they use same extractor assembly for the 25acp 32acp and 380acp. I will shoot my 32acp this week and hope there are no issues.

This is why I bought a North American Arms Guardian 32acp. They are way beefier...and when it comes to the 380, it's a bigger size altogether! I don't recall any videos on YT saying the gun came apart during firing. Furthermore they have the mag release in the proper place...no mag disconnect safety, they're not ammo sensitive at all, and the takedown is super easy! I sincerely hope your new LWS32 is working flawlessly? If I would've found a Seecamp in a LGS, or pawn shop reasonably priced, I'd have grabbed it provided it was the 32acp....but thank goodness I never did! So I had to order a NAA Guardian 32acp. I've had it 3years now....it's a perfect pistol.

@@johnastriab9052 I’m sorry to hear about this I have an old Milford gun I never had a lick of trouble with. I went ahead and bought a new Southwick I’m friends with this guy Art Franco used to do all the tech sessions for Larry Seecamp. I want to buy this new one so I could put the Connecticut one away sentimental reasons. I have talked to Art for a while he did as Larry suggested to use Ezzox as a cleaner/lubricant. He told me if you don’t know this already which I did not to use the Ezzox leave it on overnight and in the morning wipe all of the parts off because it’s like a treating metal of this lubricant and it puts like some kind of lacquer finish on it so what you do is you just wipe it off and reassemble it acts as a dry lube a lot of people leave it on like I did and that’s what happened to my slide it was just too wet and a hydrofoil then slide went down Range. Don’t put any lubricant in that take down pinhole just treat the whole entire pistol with that Ezzox again letting it dry overnight whatever excess is left wipe it off and then reassemble where the gun is totally dry. Try that and if it doesn’t work send it back of course but. I would try that if it does work send it back tell me something wrong so they can fix the slide if you had any cosmetic damage to it. After that I never had any trouble with this new one as of today I only have about 100 rounds through it but I do have a lot of Winchester silver tips that I’ve been using sometimes if you’re using hot ammo that could cause the slide to come off I was using the recommended ammo And it still came off because I was using way too much lubricant. Good Luck and I know this feeling so well I’m always that guy that gets that gun that doesn’t work or something wrong with it I feel for your brother hang in there.

I thought this pistol was over rated. When i bought mine 13 years ago they were hard to find and ran fir about 600 to 700 when you could find one. One day, mw wife had to leave to Spain to help her sister in the service. She left me with 1500 bucks and said go to the gun show. Buy what you want. I found mine brand new for 397 bucks in 32Acp. That little pistol is absolutely the best pocket pistol i have ever owned. It has never jamned. No matter how fast i shoot it. I've owned quite a few small pistols because they are what i like the most. And the Seecamp is by far the best. One day, i cleaned it. Put together and could not rack the slide. Went to bed discouraged and woke up tried to rack the slide and nothing. I called Seecamp that day and the owner answered (this was before the new owners). He told me to send it in. His reply was they found nothing wrong, but he went ahead and changed all the springs for free and sent 2 extra trigger springs. The day after I sent the pistol to Seecamp I was taken to emergency room by my wife. She said i was acting funny. Found out I had actually had a stroke, more than likely the night I could not rack the slide. I had lost power in my left hand. I'm better now. But my little Seecamp is still running strong, never a jam. And customer service back then with the original owner was beyond AWESOME. You will not be disappointed in this mighty mouse of an EDC.

@@jessejames4599TY for your comments. Yes sir, for my firearms, I ensure they are clean, ready if needed, for their intended use. Whether it's for EDC, hunting, just shooting, and collection. I find the mechanical function, and design amazing. Probably due to my years of working on machines. Unfortunately my body took a hit, even though I thought I was in great health since I was in the gym every other day, weights, running. But it gave me an opportunity to understand that I needed to put an emphasis on my actual health condition. I still ensure my firearms are in safe, operable conditions. It's a hobby, that has turned into collecting. I enjoy purchasing older firearms, restoring them if needed, and ensuring they function properly. Have an awesome day sir. God, family, health, the rest falls in place.

@dmc9339

You can also cut down a hogue Handall rubber bevertail grip sleeve that overlaps with a pinkie magazine extension. On the 380 it absorbs the recoil slightly and that with the extension can make it more manageable. Also you can Dissemble it and polish off the sharp edge of the trigger guard. It makes the bite much less damaging.. Use a very fine foam polishing block. At least that’s what I used.. You will have to cut down the hogue grip sleeve yourself as well. But it does fit well without adding much to the width. But there is some added width. I use a small padded cloth pocket holster so there isn’t much adde width that isn’t already there with the holster. But it doesn’t print and really just looks like a small wallet in your front pocket. I hope these suggestions help. Just some things I have tried.. Good luck 🍀

I bought the seecamp 5 years ago.After shooting it two times it worked great. When I took it out a third time it failed to fire.Took it apart and noticed excessive wear on inside of receiver after only about 50 rounds through it. It appears that the metal is too soft ! Also the way it must be disassembled is unlike any other firearm. If you don't follow the weird disassembly procedure, you will damage the spring and the gun won't fire...probably what I did . My advice is to buy a Beretta tomcat instead. Have not had any issues after firing many rounds through the Tomcat . My Seecamp is an expensive paperweight !

Any gun which is unreliable should not be considered a "favorite carry gun". It doesn't matter how small or cute it is, if you can't reliably and confidently defend your life with it, it's useless for its purpose. Put emotional attachments aside. Evaluate it rationally based upon experience. Do you unreservably trust it or not ? Your life could depend upon it.
