I did this back in 03 to my LX I just left it on with self tapping screws. Never thought of plastic welding it.

then it wouldn't match the fender trim. that trim piece is made into the bumper and is mostly structure for the bumper.

I just bought an all original 79 fox body pace car, switching it to an 86 front end with 92 side quarter glass and cobra taillights. I'm using a 92 5.0 with some bolt ons and trick flow heads with a T5 and 3:55's,I got all the parts,now all that's left to do... is everything, lol.

Nice work but you didn't trim enough from the new bumper. You're going to be shredding your bottom end on every pebble, parking stop and steep driveway out there.
