Okay, I've been playing with the pack and lemme help a bit. 1.) Animals take up SO much time, but it's worth it! Keep. Them. Happy! 2.) The gardening skill is KEY! Get that up for BOTH sims 3.) Get to know the locals! They can give gifts and you can offer your services as an errand runner. You WILL get money and items that are useful. 4.) Wild rabbits and bird flocks can be beneficial to farms! Make sure you befriend any you find. 5.) Knitting and Cross Stitching as you know, will bring bank. However make sure you have all necessary items. Also you CAN knit animal clothes for the livestock and wild animals. 6.) Animal Treats. Craft them and I'll let you see for yourself how they are useful. 7.) WILD FOXES=BAD FOR FARM!! (Because I forgot a couple) 8.) If you have surplus items, go to the stalls in Finchwick and sell them. Making money is always a good thing. 9.) You can trade animals for meat, simoleons and ingredients.

Love the series! you need to give the llama special treats to get other colours wool. And for the feature kid maybe Liacka (pronounced Ly-A-Ka) if it is going to be a girl, it is a combination of the first animals on the farm, a lama and some chickens. For a boy, it could be Ewo, from eggs and wool. simple names, but really original, Liacka is my personal favourite

If you look at the signs in town you can see who needs errands run. Like the crumplebottoms or the creature keeper. It's not a great money maker but you can get food and garden stuff and sometimes cute outfits for animals. So I would absolutely have a sister do it.

Hens-female, roosters-male. Llamas can be either one but are not defined as either one by the game, so Bob or Betty, whichever you want since you only get wool from them. Cows give milk so they are always female.

Roosters aren't necessary btw, they're just loud. Unless you actually want to have chicks, then obviously you need a rooster. If you just want eggs for food, then just get hens.
