Thank you so much for preparing me for the lxr02 delivery. It's fun and sound fantastic, a lot of fun.

A pleasure! There's enough in this little machine to keep you going full-time for months just exploring new sounds.

This was intense - but in a good way. I'm sure I'll grasp about 10% of the information by the 4th viewing. Here's a scenario. Say I have 4-on-the-floor kicks and a closed hihat on all 16 steps. With the LFO triggered by the kick and affecting the CHH, what parameter should I modulate to simulate a sidechain compression pumping sound?
@RichardDeHove2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, will have to test that out to be sure.

I fear I'm missing something very obvious but how do I set an lfo so that it only plays the upstroke? I want to make it so pitch/filter cutoff go from low to high.
@RichardDeHove11 ай бұрын
That's a bit tricky. The LXR's LFOs are like most synths in that they are bipolar, going above and below the "start" point for their modulation range. The only way I can think of to get around this is a bit involved.... Select a waveform with a rise like sawup or exponential saw up. Select a slow speed like 4/1 or 2/1 (or manual rate). Then make the LFO retrigger on itself. So, for example, if you're on voice 2 you would retrigger on voice 2. Finally, set the phase offset to about 63 so you're already halfway through the rise. All these things interact of course so the result will depend on the intensity of the modulation, how often it retriggers, where in the wave it retriggers and the speed of the LFO. So, messy but doable. You might even like the interesting variations you can get.

@@RichardDeHove Many thanks. Yes, I think I've achieved the result I'm after by (as you say): self-retrigger, a slow sync rate and, pushing the LFO offset up to around midway. It would have been so much easier if the LFO shapes included single up/down curves (a la The Korg Volca Drum).

LFO to shuffle and morph parameters?
@RichardDeHove2 жыл бұрын
There are 38 LFO destination locations available - but shuffle or morph aren't in there :(

Got this shortly after it came out, found it a little lacking and sat on it until a few weeks ago when I was getting ready to sell it. I get so many happy accidents that I then lose into the aether 🤣🤣🤣 I watched this video a few times but after spending some time with it, we’re clicking finally and I’ve decided that despite the frustration of tapping a knob and losing something magical this potion is staying in my cauldron.
