Thank you for another reaction on Lyca, Katriinka! I remember this livestream very well. Lyca's more into R&B, reggae, and pop rock (Kabilang Buhay is an acoustic rendition of a rock song) these days and doesn't sing big diva ballads that much in her lives. She herself said that her voice has changed a lot during puberty and she doesn't do a lot of high-pitched belting anymore unlike her younger years. But a lot of people in the livestream keep asking her to sing "Akin Ka Na Lang" so she granted their request. I thought it was brave of her to sing this song sitting down, especially since this is quite out of her comfort zone. Like you, I'm also excited to hear her vocal development a few years from now. I wish you would react to her performance of "Rolling In the Deep" or "Proud Mary". I think those songs suit her voice better and she's really in her element when singing those.

Just to have the courage to sing this song is really admirable. Yesterday, there was a karaoke in a neighbor's birthday celebration. From my room, I heard a girl sang Akin Ka Na Lang, and sadly, she murdered it. Her voice broke and she struggle to hit the mid part of the song. I know the whistle in this song is an option, but still even though she couldn't do a whistle note, she just screamed there like a dying goat. What I want to say is that this song is just so hard to sing. That's all 😂

Hi KATRIINKA! a lot of new ang young aspiring divas here in the Philippines has great influencefro MORISSETTE like Zephanie Dimaranan who sung that song too but unlike Lyca ZEPHIE was able to Execute Her whistle register following Morissette's footstep. Yeah i agree with you that song was too hard to Cover be killed, because you need a great amou t of Vocal and Breath Control to do the high and long phrasing Notes with Vibrato and runs in just One Breath! even well known belters like Katrina Velarde, Jona, Elaine Duran and GG de Lana cannot killed that song many times they've tried. There are singer in other Countries tried that AKIN KA NA LANG in KOREA,POLAND, ARGENTINA , INDONESIA even the Famous Angeluca Haley were so obsessed trying to song that song but She had a difficulty enunciating Tagalog Words the fact She's Half-Pilipino Half American. They have such gorgeous vocals and their songs are so beautifully written, filled with emotion. I recommend (all of them) A Book in Memory (written by the lead singer after watching The Notebook, so I can’t hear it without wanting to cry), AuRoRa, Reminisce About All, and Parting (I prefer the acoustic version). They often do little live shows in their vlogs or post covers. They’ve been around for a few years but don’t have a really big fanbase, which is a shame. Please give them a listen! Thanks.
