Hii bro I'm from Malaysia my name is RAJU. I was working in the radio television Malaysia which is called RTM. I recorded mastro Ilaiyaraaja sir interview on his first visit to Malaysia in the year 1977 I think. Something unforgettable happened on that day. The Very moment I met sir, tears started flowing from my eyes without any reasoon. I recorded the interview with uncontrollable tears. I received a complimentary ticket to see his show the same night. Due to an incident (humiliation)that happened on the stage I started crying incontrolably. These two happy and sad instances I could never forget in my lifetime. I have never shared with anyone in a public any Forum. I'm sharing this with you maybe because you are a great legendary and my favourite director's son and you are also so passionate about my idol the greatest music creator. I don’t know how many people will accept it, but the background music of Nadodi Thendral, I consider as Ilayaraja’s best bgm and next best is Poovizhi Vaasalile. In those days, we don’t have money to watch movie in theatres once it is released. We used to wait till it made 100 days and then watch in theatres near our home paying just 3 to 4 rupees. Like that, we watched Nadodi Thendral. When everyone were watching the movie, I was just mesmerised by its music. Honestly, let me tell that I had watched that movie only once, during that time in 1992. But still that music bgm is playing in my ears. Everyone will think about an incident and it will play in their mind. I think about that bgm, and it will play in my head, giving joy to me. If anyone want to watch a movie just for a bgm, this is the perfect movie. Enter theatre, close your eyes, just listen to that bgm for entire movie, you will come out with amazing feeling. I later on came to know that Ilayaraja wrote the story for that movie (that young age didn’t watch titles, was just 12 that time). And also heard that because of that movie Bharathiraja broke with Ilayaraja. Sad to hear that. Can you please detail what happened? But am 100% sure, Nadodi Thendral is the best Bgm in the entire Tamil cinema.
