You can use a strip of the selvedge of your fabric. The finished woven edge. Just cut a strip of that. Or use elastic the same length as the back bodice and don't stretch it :D

I'm not understanding the back part of the bodice, I am using your dream frock pattern and if I sew two side back bodice pieces either side of only one back bodice piece won't it be too small as we are missing a complete section of bodice, also it's not sitting properly, because the end bodice piece has a slight angle, do I trim it? I've watched your video over and over but what I have looks nothing like your back bodice @ 4:45.

do you have any tip on how to make a regular tie front blouse? I am trying to make a traditional peasant dress to go with a kirtle and cant figure out how to get the blouse going. I am an intermediate sewer. If the blouse was flat (like off the shoulder) it would just be sewing a rectangle and then adding a cord through the middle but I am looking for a normal looking blouse. Like the one here but not with the sleeve style shown which means the neckline is all one piece and then the front connectes to the sleeveslike normal.

Hey Lydia! For upcoming pattern alterations in your next video, would you consider offering some alternatives for smaller busted ladies? And perhaps some sort of a "shelf" style or pleated shelf style as an alternative to rounded cups? For viewers who are in the xs/sm in tops or in the A cup/B cup range 😊❤👍

I hear ya! Funnily enough this type of garment and shape is actually best for small busted ladies. Most of the models I have seen it on are A cups and it looks great because it actually subtely adds volume! I will definitely be showing how to reduce the cup size and I will consider the styles you mentioned for sure!

Hey I bought the pattern and this is the first things I'm ever sewing (and without the machine). How many pieces of each one do you cut out. Ik the. bust is four, but since the other pieces are interlocked and there is two shells would that also be four. Or is interlocking not necessary?

For this unlined version just cut what it says for the shell or main, disregard the lining cut (It is stated on each piece). Front middle is 1 on fold, the front sides is 2 mirrored, the back sides are 2 mirrored and the centre back is 2 mirroed. The ruffle is one on fold and the sleeve is 2 mirrored. The cups are 4 and the drawstring is 2 pieces. :) Sorry to reply so late, I hope you figured it out before this.

Yup! one thing you could do is just lower the height of the cup, you could also take out a bit of width from the centre. But I have a video coming this weekend for how to alter the pattern in this way (among many other things).

as someone that is still learning how to install zippers, i found that attaching the zipper before the sleeve is the easier method!

SO glad that worked for you! Thats actually what I did the first time but realized that for me it didn't leave enough room for me to get into the garment so I brought the length of the zipper into the sleeve as well which helped with that :)

Your welcome! Are you referring to page 1 with the test square? No if it’s bigger than indicated you printed it in the wrong scale. Double check that it’s in 100 scale. And print it with Adobe acrobat (free download in the video description). I hope I answered your question 😊
