Pooor Cecil ❤ when he says “I love you” with this tone of voice I get a flashback of Age of Innocence. I love Daniel Day Lewis he is the greatest ❤❤❤

I was so young that I did not realize how gorgeous Day Lewis actually was, a friend who was with me noticed this. Now I love them both, Day Lewis ❤❤ and Sands, and I am so sorry for Sands ❤😢

Cecil is a good man, although he is a little high maintenance and eccentric, but he had a kind soul.

I think he loved Lucy deep down; he was just a starchy, high and mighty sort of person who didn’t have a perfect way of showing it. At least he was big enough to admit it and mature enough to accept being friend zoned. You have to wonder how he became that way. Maybe he had really stern parents that put a lot expectations on his shoulders growing up.

I don’t think so. He is effete and given to laziness and these are contrary qualities to Christian teaching..

Cecil is a portrait of a man who is a closeted gay, without even knowing that he that he is closeted.

Think of all the women who wish they could do this, instead of going through with the lie, awful lie.

I wonder why this scene is called “Lying to Cecil” if she was truly telling the truth to him… She may have been repeating what George said to her, but I think she was still telling her true feelings
@jenaogirl Жыл бұрын
She lied when she said that the reason she doesn't want to be with him has nothing to do with another man.

You're welcome. It's just a video of a DVD on my television. I wish I had been able to create this with better technology.

Does anyone else think Audrey Hepburn would have been a great Lucy if the movie was made when she was young?

Looks like this will be coming down due to copywrite. Sorry RWAV fans...

This girl was very rude to the poor man. I do not like the main couple, I prefer Cecil, at least in the movie, I haven't read the book.

The movie was as close to the book as I've ever seen. Still, read the book. It's so lovely!

@@caliscribe2120 Thanks for telling me^^ I really want to read the book because I loved the movie. Although I still prefer Cecil over George. xD

Not a very popular opinion, but I agree! I haven't watched the movie, but I must admit that Cecil is portraid in a rather negative light in the book; a little pompous, but still I cannot help liking him. I see George as a disturbed fellow and Lucy as irresponsible for running off to Italy with him.

She was meant to marry Cecil and lead a secure life. George took her into all sorts of suffering. She's a fool. But I get why she made her choice.
