In my experience, if you are still suffering joint pain, you probably still have Lyme disease. I had Lyme for many years before figuring it out and testing positive. Doxycycline did me no good. I’ve been on disulfiram for a year now and finally have my life back without joint pain and the other symptoms I was having.

Thank you for this. My son has had Lyme for 9 years. He has had extensive treatment, which did help as he lost the use of his legs, had vertigo, extreme pain, headaches , and more, but is still laid up. His GP did not treat right away despite a known bite, rash, and symptoms. Knowing what we do now. I urge people to make sure to pursue treatment early. We should have gone to other doctors til one would treat. After 2 months it spreads throughout your body. The tests are less than 50% accurate. If you do get bit, they can test the tick, and that is more straightforward. We use Cedarcide, a natural spray made from Cedar oil on our yard, and do tick checks.

Lyme disease is very bad in my area (southeastern Pa in the states) We have a high deer population that transmits it. I’ve had Lyme twice, and my husband had it once. Fatigue and horrible headache were my symptoms. Thankfully that we caught it early, I was put on doxycycline and had great results. Check diligently after gardening when showering! I’m sorry to hear that people deal with this disease long term. This is a wonderful community to share stories, and treatments for Lyme. Thank goodness we all have gardening to deal with all the stresses in life!💕🌸🌷🌺🌱🌿

I live in a state near you, my husband and I have both had it. I'm horrified that I could get it twice in my lifetime. It was worse than childbirth and nearly killed me. I had to change my diet afterwards to combat the inflammation. Learned how to walk and type again. Did your second illness display itself the same as the first?

Oh Bunny, I contracted Lyme several years ago. I researched and learned about Ozone therapy, and found a doctor that administers it. I had around fifteen Ozone IVs called Major Auto Hemotherapy, also ozone knee injections called Prolozone. These therapies helped me so much. I am virtually symptom free now, and my knees are pain free. I’m in the US so can’t help with my doctor. I so hope you can find one there. Thank you so much for posting this video.

Bunny your presentation of Lyme is GREAT, so important. I feel sad that you've had this illness. I'm a registered nurse who is bitten regularly. In fact - I have 2 tick bites that I removed in the last 1.5 weeks, treated prophylactically with single dose 200mg Doxy- I've had this treatment about 4 times and twice a full treatment for Lyme fever here in upper NY state. I've been getting this only since 2017 - I've always nipped it - so the only long term effects I have are from the Doxy (tummy). I wonder if this is a preventative treatment un the UK as well? I had no idea Lyme was rampant in the UK. Thank you again for your vital public service - you may save some people from illness.

Thanks Bunny for sharing this. I got diagnosed with lime last fall. Similar symptoms. Doctors also vigorously ruled Lime out until we made a bloodiest. Seems to be from an infection years or even decades back.I never had the typical red skin reaction. A rare case which scientific literature describes. Still having symptoms it is unclear whether they will ever completely disappear. My strong recommendation: A simple blood test each winter. I wish I had done it. All the best, Sabine

Yes, I almost died as well. Horrifying. I know many people in my rural area that have had their lives changed or ruined by Lyme. The answer for prevention? Don't go outside in the summer. For real? Come on science, we know how quickly a vaccine can be made. The vaccine for Lyme already exists, it just needs to be manufactured again.

Thank you so much for bringing awerness to the issues. My sister caught lime disease when she was 9 and showed serious psychological symtoms and it took us 2 years to figure iut it was lime. Here in germany its basically unknown and the tests not reliabl. The doctors put my sister in antibiotics fpr several moth at a time with no improvment. She lost a lot of weight and was emotionally unstable, alswys tired and had an over sensibility of her skin. My mom found then a doctor who specialised in lime disease and gave my sister ozone shots once a week. In half a year all her symtoms disapeared. Now with 16 she is a normal teenager again, gained back her weight and is happy but she lost a big part of her childhood and ist still catching up to her peers. Mainstream medicine still ignores teh disease for most parts and has no efficiant way of treatung it let alone cure it. And thats a shame.

Useful video. Tweezers not good for removing ticks, especially if you've not much experience. I don't see how their being sharp would help, above all you must get the whole tick out, anything sharp may rick breaking the tick up, which is to be avoided. Use the specialist tick removal tools, they work very well.

I thought I would also add our family's prevention method: Ticks need to be on you (attached) for 36-48 hours to transmit the disease, so if we're spending time out doors in a Lyme infected area, every evening, we shower and check our bodies for ticks and remove them. In addition, we're always on the lookout for symptoms. If I'm doing yard work or or hiking, I'll wear white pants tucked into my shoes, and if the ticks are really bad, I'll spray shoes, sock and pants with permethrin which kills them.
@lindaedvardsson4218
@lindaedvardsson4218 3 жыл бұрын
It often transmit any disease if it has any the moment it bites tho... or in the progress of removal... 36-48 hours can be very misleading to say actually..🥺.. mostly you do not connect the bite with the onset of symptoms later... It is a horrible disease and better not letting them get the chance to bite at all....💚👋🏼🥺🇸🇪
@caudwelllymecocharity6875
@caudwelllymecocharity6875 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your extra measures! Showering and using permethrin are both great suggestions. However, not enough research has yet been done to prove how little or long it can take to transfer the bacteria. There was a recent study that showed it may have been transferred in as little as six hours! So assuming that a period of less than 36-48 hours is safe could be dangerous. Always best to check regularly and remove as soon as possible.

I had long waterproof trousers and boots on, so I couldn't work out how it got there in the first place! I was in a bit of a panic when I realised what it was, and pulled it out quickly with tweezers, leaving the head behind, which crusted over and fell off in a day or so. Nhs website didn't seem very concerned, and I didn't develop a rash, so I'm assuming/hoping I didn't get Lyme disease. I live in an area with high deer, and sheep population. My Doctor said I have a false positive result and that I don't have Lyme. From what I know in order to be diagnosed with Lyme Disease a patient must have a positive ELISA test and a positive WESTERN BLOT according to the CDC. If however the ELISA test is an old, out dated, non specific and low sensitive test, then does the WESTERN BLOT Lyme test become a better Gold Standard test?

Lyme is a much more complicated issue. Treatment with mainstream antibiotics at the first sign of a bullseye rash may help some. Most of us have acquired Lyme from unknown sources other than tics (i.e.mosquitos) and once it is established, antibiotics are useless. Treatment outside the mainstream is the most helpful.

Thank you Bunny! I am a lyme survivor here in Eastern MA, USA...I am so glad you said the tick is the size of a poppy seed, because the videos just don't show it. Parents should have a magnifying glass, and look for a pin prick in the center of any bites the children get, (and yourself,) because the tick is so small you might not see it. Another warning. Never drink calcium drinks or milk with Doxyc. Take that warning seriously, it is very bad for your liver to drink milk or calcium drinks with that medication.

Bunny, thank you for covering this topic. As ever, it's a helpful and informative video. I have an interesting tale to tell of my skirmish with Borellia,. It was 10 years ago when Lyme disease wasn't widely known about or recognised. My 'go to' health professional uses a Bio-resonance machine, these machines are electro magnetic and detect pathogens; bacteria, viruses, parasites and then 'harmonise', ie destroy the unwanted intruders. The appointment was actually for another issue but as soon as he saw I was infected with Borellia he explained the seriousness and as a matter of urgency he would need to concentrate on clearing it. He explained what Lyme disease was and the possible consequences and asked if I was experiencing memory problems - indeed I was (I'd put this down to work, age etc). I was fortunate, my memory returned and I've had no recurrence of Borellia, but as Bunny advises, I always take great care when gardening or out doors to avoid tick bites.

Treating just the Lyme is pointless. Most of us have undiagnosed parasites in our bodies which carry the Lyme and unless those are dealt with, the Lyme will keep returning. The steroid meds are just a stopgap measure. Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt who is currently in England deals with these broad issues of parasites and Lyme as does Dr Simon Yu, in the U.S. Read Dr Simon Yu's book "Accidental Blow Up in Medicine."

I heard that it was developed by the USA military in the 1960’s for release in the Vietnam war… first cases were around the labs in New England .. thereis a judicial enquiry in USA about it. … interesting that it has only relatively recently spread to the uk and the first cases were apparently around us airbases in thetford forest east anglia…. Bunny- You are a gardener. Why don’t you try and. use plants - Artemesia annua ( the major plant used throughout Africa to cure people from a malaria. And Oshea root - a plant that has been used in the USA Bu the native Americans for centuries …… even Japanese knotweed - the scourge of garden Dun the uk but nature sends an antidote when deeded and it is known to kill lymes - and cancer! please research and try. … don’t fall for the expensive and ineffective drugs of course the NHS won’t prescribe natural plants because you can grow them freely in the UK they don’t make any money for the pharmaceutical companies. I’m not suggesting that the treatment for drug regimes offer may not work and simply saying that they’re alternatives that are better for your body and that do work. You’ll be told there is no scientific evidence of course there will never be any scientific investigation of the alternatives as there is no money in it. If you’ve got live today nothing to lose by trying it. Here are some links www.military.com/daily-news/2019/08/12/congressman-claims-evidence-links-lyme-disease-us-military-bioweapons-research.html. Yes I did have guinea fowl and was told they ate the ticks, then someone else said that many birds eat the ticks - does anyone else know if it is just guinea fowl?🐇

@@bunnyguinness I have friends on Long Island, NY which is almost ground zero for ticks. One lives in a house with a communal back garden & swears that the tick situation cleared up when neighbors got Partridges, which roam free back there. Another has pastured chickens (not free range ... pastured) & says the chickens keep the ticks at bay. So most will alleviate the tick situation, but my understanding is that, despite the many downsides to having Guineas, they are the best for some reason. Why do you not have Guineas anymore? Too loud? Too problematic? I hear they make great watch"dogs" as they startle easily & make a lot of noise when suddenly frightened.
