Lyme Regis, Dorset walking highlights

I head over to the 27th randomly picked place which turns out to be our first visit in Dorset on the walking highlights.
I climb up the Jurassic coast along the south west coastal path and hope to make it over to Charmouth and back!

Great video, you’ve showcased Lyme Regis beautifully! The Jurassic coast is absolutely spectacular and I highly recommend going further along to Lulworth / Durdle Door if you haven’t already 😊 Lucy (Katy’s friend)

You really must, Durdle Door is absolutely spectacular but it’s a bit of a workout with all the steps! It’s worth it though as the view is really something special 😊

A very comprehensive guide. My son is there at mo. A great shame you wasted your time trying to access the coast path as signposted. Years ago people knew it wasn’t viable & you had to go via the golf course then. I haven’t been for a while - can’t understand why this isn’t made clear. As you said they don’t signpost the way adequately which for safety is odd. Yes I believe the beach was raised as part of the sea defence system. Years ago you could walk along the beach (it was solid sand)and build sandcastles there- now shingle-there were steps down to the beach 10(ish) so quite some way down. The sand at the Cobb end is from France - must have been the type required??? Just to say the Cobb Gate car pk ( not near the Cobb)is the one with the Clock memorial & has a handful of spaces - only really got the 2 main car pks Holmbush & Charmouth Rd. There was a NCP car pk opposite the main bus stop. Yes aren’t the stairs at the Charmouth Road car park exhausting?-there should be a Warning Sign. Seem to remember a bench along the way. Lyme Regis still remains my favourite seaside resort but like so many places was actually better years ago. Thanks
