Part of the French Lieutenants Woman was filmed outside the town on the old smugglers road which ran past the house my parents rented overlooking the landslip. My late Mother got chatting to Meryl Streep and she popped into the house to use the toilet and stayed for a chat and cup of tea!

Thanks Sharon. It's lovely to hear that you get pleasure from what I do. There's plenty more on the way too so hopefully won't disappoint. Thanks again.

Just got back from my first visit to Lyme Regis and absolutely loved it, had a proper foodie trip with an adventure at Millside with their seafood platter, plus Tom’s and Harbour Inn deserve a shoutout!

We stopped at the harbour Inn ourselves. Very nice.

Cheers Joe. If only I had the time to post more videos. I've not missed my promise of one on the first Sunday every month but hopefully will increase that in the not to distant future.

Thanks Joe, for your fascinating story about Lyme Regis. I’ve been to Lyme Regis a few times and it holds a lot of fond memories for me. Your stories in your videos are very informative thank you. Looking forward to your next adventure. ❤

Thanks Marilyn. Speaking of memories. There used to be a tea shop in the gardens overlooking the bay. They served the best cream tea's I've ever had. Unfortunately it closed some years ago. Nowadays it's a restaurant. Thank you for your support.

Thank you. We had a holiday there a few years ago. It was early in the year, April I think, and it snowed! So there we were walking on a snow-covered beach which was a bit wierd! A lovely place. Have you visited the fossil museum? Absolutely fascinating.
@JoeCoastal Жыл бұрын
Thanks Carol. Snow on the beach is a rare sight down here on the south coast. The gulf stream brings warm waters down the English Channel which warms the air temperatures. The beast from the east back in 2018 was the last time I saw it. I have visited the museum but not for many years. I should go again.

Your definition of “grannies teeth” is wrong. Grannies are further up the Cobb. They are just stones sticking out of the harbor wall.
@JoeCoastal18 күн бұрын
Yes you're right. Someone pointed that out before. Silly mistake on my part.

@ I should’ve added that I spent many summers with my grandfather who lived on Marine Parade in front of the harbour. Your superb video brought back some great memories from my youth. Thanks very much and keep up the good work.

Hi, Joe! Great video. I really love to watch the coastal walks but I also very much appreciate the more "in depth" videos from the places along the walks. I knew next to nothing about Lyme Regis apart from being situated approximately at the North-Eastern end of the Undercliff path. Lyme Regis looks like a very beautiful and diverse town with a lot to offer. Thank you 😊
@JoeCoastal Жыл бұрын
Thanks Torunn. I love Lyme. So many good holiday memories here. Yes here is plenty of interest in Lyme. That's good to hear as I've. Already filmed the next one which is in Swanage. 😁

Just so you know…. There is no such bird as a seagull
@JoeCoastal Жыл бұрын
Yes I'm aware it's a colloquial term. Call them what you like. They'll still nick your chips given half a chance 😁
@christineharrison5155 Жыл бұрын
As I understand it that there is a gull called the common seagull that looks very similar to the herring gull that actually pilfers chips etc. It's the herring gull that's a pain in the Weymouth area altho' I have to say I love them!
@JoeCoastal Жыл бұрын
@christineharrison5155 I love them too. Just reminds me I'm at the seaside. Funnily enough one attacked the table I was sitting at earlier today. He got away with nothing though.
@davidbrown5185 Жыл бұрын
@@christineharrison5155 the herring gull is actually much more common than the common gull.
