Interesting stuff. My wife has ended up with Chylous asities recently and I have been trying to learn more about it as her doctor seems dismissive of treating it, just draining the fluid. She has started on a low fat diet now. Any advice you would have would be gratefully received. Seems difficult to find someone medical who would be an expert in this field and able to help. I know it’s a rare complication. I’m in the UK

Great explanation. I have abdominal swelling along with oil in my urine which i assume is chyle. I also have a traffic jam feeling under left clavicle. I had my gallbladder removed. Ive tried telling doctors i think my lymph system is backed up and i tell them about oily urine but nothing is done. Makes so much sense. Ill try fasting to reduce swelling or only eating steamed fruits and veggies. Ive heard medium chain triglycerides are good for chylous ascites. Im almost sure its what i have
