As a long time sufferer of chronic lymphoedema I can only with a heavy heart sympathise with Cora. This condition is a nightmare to live with and can be utterly debilitating as it progresses as you get older. I’ve been totally housebound for the last five years because of the lymphoedema and all its other side effects. Some of us though, like Cora and her parents are remarkably lucky to find specialists that are an absolute godsend to us. I have a specialist lymphoedema nurse that I see at regular intervals. Her knowledge of lymphoedema, the lymphatic system, and practically every skin condition known to medicine is phenomenal. I trust her implicitly with every level of my ongoing care. I wish Cora and her family much love and prayers for her continued care and wellbeing. Whichever route in her life Cora decides to take, I sincerely hope she never lets lymphoedema define who she is. I may be pushing 60, housebound and now virtually bedbound, but I am still a mother to a beautiful daughter who has given me the greatest gift of being able to be a very proud grandmother to my two year old granddaughter. My little ray of sunshine, she understands that her Nana can’t do what all her other grandparents can, but that has never held us back from being best friends and having an absolute blast playing together whenever she visits. I even get to FaceTime her umpteen times a day. Life is what you make of it. Go grab it Cora, make your life what you want it to be. Smile and the world smiles with you. Laugh, it’s definitely infectious.💞🙏🇬🇧

If this continues after your pregnancy don’t be afraid to insist to see a lymphatic specialist just to be on the safe side. It usually ends after your pregnancy due to your body slowly returning to normal pre-pregnancy, but on the rarest of occasions it can, like with me, trigger Lipidaema. Lymphatic issues can easily be missed and never go diagnosed. Congratulations on your precious new family member. There’s nothing as amazing and wonderful as becoming a Mum.🙏💞

There are many, many people in the U.S. that are Certified Lymphedema Specialists. I myself am certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. When their is something mechanically wrong with the Lymphatic System, this is where Certified Lymphedema Therapists come in, they are qualified to work on severe issues. Very powerful but very gentle work.

I say that because I thought eventually the swelling would've went down. She was only able to wear 1 shoe & the other Leg/foot she wore a flip flop. I always watched out for her too! @@CheyenneTrent my dads side of fam was born with it & went away completely as they got older. When born both my feet looked like little ballons, when I was older around elementary school they were less but still swollen enough were I could only wear boots or shoes sized up.. I’m 24 now & left foot is slightly swollen barely noticeable ,. Right foot is same except it gets extremely swollen up to my calf, if I walk after couple hours or eat too much junk & soda or if hot temperature outside. Truly it’s difficult in many little ways but hey I can walk & fully function, I’m grateful for my feet. what I can say that makes me happy for you is your baby is only few months (like I mentioned a lot of family of mine were born with same & their body defeated whatever was blocking their lymphatic fluid) , don’t lose hope💓Praying that your sons experience with this is quick so he can wear awesome little shoes . one thing I can invite you to do with all respect is yes go to the neurologist & continue to do all you can to help figure out what’s going on. Despite all the pain this brought me one thing I am grateful for is my moms determination since the day i was born till even now to try & find help for me. Sending all the best to you & your fam 🙌🏻 you got this (:

I was born with Primary Heritary Lymphedema in both my legs, I think my great grandfather from Germany had lymphedema when he moved to America. My dad was the only one of his siblings to have lymphedema in his legs the longer he was standing & walking on his legs the worse they got severe swelling. My sister & brother both born with Lymphedema in both legs. My daughter was born with Lymphedema in her toes on the right foot only. My son was born with Lymphedema in both legs. My niece was born with Lymphedema in both her legs but my nephews & great neice's don't have lymphedema at all. My two Granddaughter's my son's daughter's both have lymphedema but there doctor calls it Turners Syndrome not lymphedema. My daughter's son that was the second child born, I was told he has swelling in his genetal area & both feet. But his older brother & his little sister don't have any lymphedema at all. If this help's any one F4 gene can cause lymphedema & the severe swelling of certain parts of the body, any where there is lymph vessel's in the body can be affected.
