Neil"s and Rachel's voice are a match made in heaven!

I can't even begin to describe the chorus on this track. The souvlaki layered wall of sound combined with Rachels angelic singing and Neil's longing voice.. I was so worried about the comeback, having heard the couple of singles and not being that impressed with Sugar for the Pill and very disappointed by Star Roving . This song has everything i missed from those singles. I can't wait for my pre-order now!

You're nuts. "Star Roving" is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

That's fair. My problem is that I've been a fan for years and years. I've been accustomed to a specific sound that I'm always hearing in my head when i think of Slowdive. You know, that layered dreamy guitar haze. Don't get me wrong The new tracks are fine, star roving definitely has a wall of sound. It's just not "that" sound you know? Tracks like Hide your eyes, Sleep and Souvlaki Space Station. Is what i think of when i think of Slowdive. The new tracks except this one from the video sounds like modern indie rock with a layer of reverb added to make it "dream poppy". But I'm glad you guys like the new tracks! I'm just hoping that something on the new album appeals to my idea of Slowdive :)

"No Longer Making Time" is great and I'm curious to hear the studio version of it. "40 Days" and "Souvlaki Space Station" are my favourite songs by them. I've been a fan for many years as well. However, "Star Roving" just does it for me. To me, songs like "Avalyn" are snoozers!

Of the three we've heard so far, this is the best... It seems to marry Souvlaki, Pygmalion and even the early EPs when it gets going.... And with 20 years down the road, they've replaced the teenage angst with a world-weariness.
