That's because you're mental. Women like Lynette or you are the reason why men want prenups or prefer not to get married and just life together as partners not husband and wives. If you have an issue with your husband and are not able to have an open discussion about it like an adult then don't get married or don't get in a relationship until you have dealt with your own psychosis and neurosis, and insecurities, instead of making someone else take the blame for your immaturity, instead of putting peanut butter on stairs. Do you know the risk of the person breaking its neck and being paraplegic because of this or cracking its skull open and dying. If i had slept with my wife's friend and she found out and did that to me. Thank god i am a lawyer, because i would have her committed to a psychiatric institution for a murder attempt and have her declared legally insane by a professional doctor. Then i would take away the kids, have the marriage annulled (so no risk of custody of the kids or alimony) and when she is out of the loony bin she would not have a penny to her name except her own savings, not a single chance to get a proper job after what is considered as both conjugal physical violence and psychological harassment, and the house would still be mine.

I agree with Lynette on this, on her explanation because if you talk about things and cry you can get over things and move past them and sometimes... you're that angry, mixed with stubbornes too, you just don't want to!

@@alcudiababe1 Interesting how you completely forgive Renee although she is supposed to be the best friend and she completely betrayed the trust Lynette had in her. But apparently this is no biggie for you. The blame of course goes in the husband, because i guess somehow the friend becomes less important than the fiance at some point or because the fiance or husband is the one you chose to get even with, then the friend becomes somehow the ally you are going to coerce into your scheme, that is definitely what Lynette is doing with Renee, instead of blaming her for banging her husband or fiance. No i do not see cheating lightly, i see sex lightly. If there were not STDs i couldn't care less if my wife had slept with a guy while we were just engaged. But i would certainly not forgive my best friend if he had banged my wife and kept it away from me. My wife body doesn't belong to me and she will be free to do whatever she damn please with it until the day she dies and i have ZERO right to decide what or who goes inside it if she chooses so. But the betrayal of a friend is something i would consider a far bigger cheat than a quickie with some random lad before marriage. What i certainly wouldn't do would be to make her risk cracking her head open on the stairs or embarrassing her. I would be an adult and sit her down sit myself down, tell her "I found out you cheated on me with so or so , then or then, can we have an open heart discussion about it, and either move on or try to figure out if there is a bigger underlying issue there." Because the issue is not the cheating per se, it is the hiding of the cheating for years. So if the hiding was based on the fear or hurting the other for something my wife was deeply ashamed of doing, then it is perfectly understandable. But i would not punish her or harass her or humiliate her. That's not what a mature relationship is about ? Because the problem is that finding out that your partner cheated on you decades ago is one thing , but finding out that your partner is enjoying punishing you, humiliating you, embarrassing you and potentially hurt you badly, is something that , to me, as a lawyer, would be settled in court. Because i can live my life with someone who once cheated, but i can not live my life with a machiavellian sadist who enjoys hurting me. Because this type of behaviour is borderline sociopathic or even worse psychopathic. But it is definitely the manifestation of a profound underlying neurotic or psychotic issue.

@@alcudiababe1 Oh and my wife is a medical doctor with also a degree is psychiatry and she just told me that if i did to her what Lynette did to her husband she would also have me committed and take the kids away from me. But if i had cheated in her 20 years ago before marriage she would not even raise an eyebrow about the confession but she would be furious against her best friend if she hadn't told her immediately. So i guess i do not have real problems here. But then again we are mature responsible people who understand that human nature is not faultless and that we are slaves of our desires, but the desire to bang someone and the desire to hurt someone are two completely different emotions triggered by opposite areas in the brain. Nobody goes to court for having sex Because the act in itself is not punished by law (between consenting adults of course) but the act of hurting someone is @unished by law. This is as simple as that.

@@kachi2782 I never said I did let Renée off the hook, I was talking about the relationship between her and Tom. She never entered into my dialogue. Interesting that what you took from what I actually put in black and white talking about two people is that. Maybe you need your wife to give you a medical exam

@@alcudiababe1 Yet again you are pointing out fingers at men only, just as if women didn't cheat ! The only difference is that men are biologically programmed to fertilize as many women as possible our sex urges are not at all the same as women's . WE control our urges a lot more than woman do. I am going to give you a silly example. We see casual sex the way women see buying a new pair of shoes or some clothes or accessories and we see clothes and accessories the way women see casual sex. For most women having a loving and caring , mature responsible man at home (along with their own professional career, social circles and financial independence) is fulfilling, Just like for men having one pair of shoes and denim trousers for a lifetime. just one bag to put all our crap in, is fulfilling (along with the loving wife or partner, the career, the group of loyal friends and financial independence). But if we didn't control our natural urges we would cheat as often as women buy a new pair of shoes or bag because apparently having 50 pairs of footwear and an equal number of matching bags is an urge many women with the wealth to do it, can't resist. In that respect, men control their urges far more than women do ! Twitchy Lake 5 hours ago (edited) @Ka Chi yes, we have human desires and urges but we don't have to act on them. Maybe you should consider watching Jackal and Hyde - when he behaved like a normal person he got respect off people - but doing an experiment to himself where all his urges take place, he was a violent, sex maniac - his real looks disappeared to reveal a more sinister person. Women were scared and repulsed by him because he decided to give in to all his urges and he ended up getting shot. Maybe it's something to consider when you talk about urges and in your words that we are slaves to our desires.

They always make Tom *almost* cheat on her, *almost* being a douchebag, *almost* ruining everything, and the times he actually fucks up they always make up a way to blame Lynette and or make her a martyr who's willing to forgive him and support him in everything he does. And she ain't no good either, she constantly sabotaged him and blamed him for everything, even their unplanned children. The writers sucked, the actresses and overall aesthetic were what saved the show.
