However, if you did so, there is no need to tell her, this just caused so much unneeded pain and arguments, you can't go back and change the past so why do you need to tell that. I think she shouldn't have come to lane knowing that the man who banged her is her best friend's husband now, she should have stayed somewhere else

Well it's just sex and it was a mistake. Renee was right to tell lynette, honesty is the best policy..tom should have told lynette years ago though. It can be gotten through though...my husband was married for ten years before we got married. His ex wife was a friend of mine and she introduced us. We remained friends and she became an aunt to our children. She was a big part of my husband's life for 18 years and now is a close friend of our family. She remarried a friend of my husband's and is very happy. It is possible for relationships to continue depending on circumstances.

She forgave Tom for rarely giving her a hand in raising their kids, for having an affair with another woman and getting her pregnant, she even allowed his bratty child with another woman to live with them after her mom died, she forgave him for his affair with Renee and then forgave him for getting up with Jane when they were supposed to be working on their marriage! So how in the hell was SHE the toxic one? oh because she refused to be a stepford wife and didn't stand back and let childish Tom go ahead and make one dumb decision after the other, therefore it means she was controlling. I had difficulty connecting with the Renee character. And no, not because Edie was gone. Edie was already gone for Season 6. And I loved Katherine and Angie that season. In fact, while on the topic, I was able to connect with the Angie character a lot better after a couple of episodes than I was able to with Renee after two seasons. So nevermind comparing Renee to Edie or Katherine, she doesn't even hold up against Angie.

I don't agree with you. First, DH viewers dropped significantly from season 3 to 8, each season. So it's not like VW's character was THE thing that made viewers go away. Also, VW is a fantastic actress. To me, the problem was not her acting ability, but Renee's character, who was pretty useless and had no real purpose on the show. Williams played an empty character, but that does not make her an empty actress. I think they ruined Vanessa's talent by giving her this role

And again, Renee tells Lynette out of guilt AND because Susan heard Renee talk about Tom when she was drunk and sad and half-asleep. After that Susan says to Renee, that if she don't tell Lynette she will! So yeah.. I also think Susan goes to Tom or they talk about it in their house, but Tom doesn't want to tell Lynette about it, but Renee does (as we see here in the video). Then Lynette knows about it and wants to make revenge, but Tom knows nothing. Lynette and Tom also had a "break" in their relationsship, so yeah..
