Hi Lynn, I am truly beginner in Mah jongg game. I watched some people played last week, I did not understand much. I told myself I won’t start to learn how to play . I just randomly found your video; which change my mind due to your clear explanation about the card 2024. I would like to thank you so much for giving this helpful video. Thi Nguyen ( just moved in from Maryland to Venice,FL.

Love this video. In addition I would love to see a video on deciding a hand while doing the Charleston.

Thank you Lynn. Getting back in the game with my old group, two of whom have been playing since childhood. I needed the refresher so many thanks. (We played yesterday for 3 hours. There were at least 3 wall games and I was the big winner 3-0.)

9/17/24-I'm so glad that I found this video! I'm a brand new player with a new card so your review of each hand and suggested strategies was so informative. I'll probably watch it again as there's a lot to take in. Good luck in FL!!

Thanks so much, Lynn! I'm a beginner and this is very helpful. The angle of your camera shows an excellent view to clearly see everything you are doing.

This was JUST what I needed! Thank you so much for all the examples. I’m a new learner and this was so helpful! The card is so much less intimidating now! Very grateful! Best wishes Lynn on your relocation to FL.

Thank you. This was very helpful as we get more experience with 2024 card. First time that I’ve seen a sextet, part of singles and pairs.

Hi! There is no sextet on this year’s card… A sextet would be six like, meaning same, tiles. For instance, 444444 or DDDDDD… all of the tiles would have to match.

I have been waiting for you to do your video with the 2024 card. I always request your print out and keep it through the year, but never play with real people. I've been playing with bots for two years. However, this year I moved from FL to TN and am playing with real people. Unfortunately, they play that they can use "special" jokers in a pair or for a single. Some play with 2 special jokers and some with four! I can easily win that way!! The other thing they do is have only one Charleston in order to save time. I want to play the AML way BUT I also want to play with people in person. I guess I have to pick my battles. Have you thought about doing videos on how to pick a hand and tiles to discard during the Charleston? That is the most difficult, time consuming thing for me even though I watch Mah Jongg teachers online. Thanks Lynn for all you do for the Mah Jongg lovers of the world!

Hi! In the last hand of 13579 category, it says in parenthesis "These Nos only". I'm not sure why it says that for that hand when I thought all hands in this category had to be same numbers as printed. Thanks!

In the quint category line number 3, you have cracks with 3 jokers. I thought you couldn't use jokers if you only have a pair. Plz explain.

I have always wanted to play this game. I even got gifted the tiles. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone to play with. Also after watching this video it seems very complicated and I’m not sure I’m smart enough for this game. But it is an interesting game.

We have been told by our leader in our mah jongg group that in Quints line two that the quints can not be consecutive numbers. This makes no sense if it says any non matching numbers. Please verify for ys! Thanks so much for your time and explaining the 2024 card.
@lynnkaplan8966 ай бұрын
With all due respect, your instructor is wrong. The language reads any two nonmatching numbers… So in actuality, you could have a quint of three dots and a quint of five bams . That’s just one example.

@@jeannenebabor7897you might ask your library or senior group in your community to take it up. Our library has been very supportive.
@jiberriАй бұрын
@2karencraig So does that mean your instructor would say a quint of 4s and a quint of 5s are incorrect because 4 and 5 are consecutive?
